New on DVD: Week of May 10
After a bad week for releases, this weeks is a bit better. The big names this week include Legion and Daybreakers. Even though I'm a sucker when it comes to action/horror films, I wasn't all that impressed with either. I did find Daybreakers to be a bit more enjoyable, mainly because of Willem Dafoe. Apatow & Rudd Teaming Up For New Comedy
MTV caught up with Judd Apatow to talk about Paramount’s decision not to move forward on an 'Anchorman' sequel. During the interview Apatow mentions that he is currently working on a new project with Paul Rudd. "I'm producing a movie that Paul Rudd's in that's shooting in the fall which David Wain wrote with Ken Marino, and they're going to announce that soon," he said. That's all Apatow would reveal. First Trailer for Robert Rodriguez’s ‘Machete’
A first trailer for Robert Rodriguez's new action film Machete has been released. The film is produced by Robert Rodriguez and co-directed with Ethan Dummies. Machete centers around a Mexican ex-Federale (Danny Trejo) who is betrayed by his corrupt former boss. A fake trailer for the film ran in between Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's Grindhouse films, Planet Terror and Death Proof. New on DVD: Week of May 3
This is one of the least impressive weeks for releases that I can remember. Nothing is very appealing, unless you're a fan of 'Batman'. All the 'Batman' films pre Batman Begins will be released on Blu-ray. The only two I'd consider buying though are Batman and Batman Returns. Matthew Vaughn to Direct X-Men: First Class‎?
Deadline.com is reporting that Kick-Ass director Matthew Vaughn is in talks with 20 Century Fox to direct X-Men: First Class. It had been rumored last week that Vaughn was in negotiations with the studio, but coincidentally those rumors were quickly dismissed by Deadline themselves.
