Monday September 20th brings the return of two big network shows in House and Heroes. Both kick off their respective seasons with two hour events that begin at 8pm. This represents the sixth season of House and the fourth for Heroes. House is one of the strongest shows for Fox and certainly remains entertaining every week. The finale of season five drew 12.7 million viewers. However some storyline decisions that were made last season baffled and upset fans. Being committed to a mental ins...

Last year Blue Ribbon partnered with EA Sports to provide the team ratings and scouting reports for the NCAA Basketball series. It appears that agreement has continued and includes NCAA Basketball 10. The Blue Ribbon Preseason Top 25 is presented by EA Sports and suggests this will be the Top 25 featured in the game. Also of note for NCAA Basketball 10 is a release date move to Tuesday November 17th just in time for the holiday sales rush. While the Blue Ribbon Top 25 does not include cor...
  • Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 7 Premiere

Its been nearly two years since the end of the sixth season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. It returns with the premiere of the seventh season on Sunday, September 20th at 9PM on HBO. It is rare for TV shows to make me laugh out loud even if they're funny, but Curb has consistently done that throughout its run. I often times find myself agreeing with Larry David and totally understanding his initial opinion and position. He just can't ever let things go and it always gets him into difficult situ...
  • First Chance To See NBA 2K10

At an event last night sponsored by 2K Sports, Kobe Bryant faced off against Carmelo Anthony in a game of NBA 2K10. The quality of the video is not good but isn't much worse than the quality of the live stream from that event. Should this video be used to judge NBA 2K10? Of course not. It was likely set to a low difficulty and the two guys didn't even know how to play the game (Kobe asked "how do you dunk" before they started). However when a game is two weeks out from release and the...

The box office numbers are in for Friday September 18th and as expected Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs has come out on top pulling in 8 million. Considering Friday was a school day and the increased prices and demand seen with 3D offerings the average 3x Friday multiplier will likely be on the low side. For the weekend Meatballs will make close to 30 million. In a slight upset it is The Informant! that comes in second beating out Jennifer's Body. The Informant! made 3.7 million while J...

One of the staples of the entertainment site will be frequent reviews for movies opening up in theaters as well as DVD and Blu-ray reviews. As time goes on the review format will certainly evolve. Not only in structure but also in level of comfort of writing them. Slight spoilers ahead, but given these are true events I feel comfortable discussing them so just be forewarned. The Informant! opened today starring Matt Damon and directed by Steven Soderbergh. Loosely based on a true story, Dam...

There will be no Madden 10 roster update this week according to Donny Moore. The message left in the rosters and ratings forum below announced this earlier today. We don't like to react prematurely to performance issues so we don't plan to update the rosters this week. We will be back next week with a comprehensive update that includes key performance changes as well as any major depth chart adjustments. Looking ahead, we plan to update the rosters as needed throughout NFL season. Expect se...

While Fox won the very competitive night of Thursday September 17th, Survivor: Samoa debuted with 11.5 million viewers making it the highest rated show of the evening. Survivor remains a lucrative show for CBS, though the 19th season premiere was down from last season by over two million viewers. The season premiere of Fringe drew 8 million viewers which was down slightly from the series premiere, however that was a much hyped two hour event and it is now in a much more competitive time s...
