The first indication that the Saw franchise is vulnerable has arrived. The previous sequels all opened with 30-34 million however after Friday's take Saw VI looks to finish up the weekend with about 18 million. The relatively low budget makes this still a very profitable venture but a disappointment because the majority of the money the picture will make will come in the first eight days. Not only did Saw VI drop significantly, for the first time it won't be #1 at the box office. Paranorm...

The Photo Game Face feature has been used in previous EA Sports titles such as Tiger Woods. This year it arrives for use in FIFA 10 as your Virtual Pro. Unfortunately it has become an exercise in frustration and finishes up with a poor final representation. There are over 5000 comments on the Game Face page and most have to do with problems being had or the lack of Mac support. (more…)...

It is hard to believe but the release of NCAA Basketball 10 is just over three weeks away as it will arrive on November 17th. The demo will be out two weeks from today. EA has been releasing a barrage of trailers and short gameplay clips, however the actual features for the game remain unknown. No features list has been made available and no news on the game other than relating to presentation and motion offenses has come from previews. Because of this I'm concerned because the addition o...

Halloween arrives a week early at the box office as the now yearly installment of the Saw franchise is released. Saw VI will look to continue the astonishingly consistent performance of the sequels. The best chance of a strong box office pull is presented by releasing this weekend rather than next Friday. If it waited until that close to Halloween it would have a light Saturday audience and only the one day to take advantage of the anticipation of the holiday. Now Saw will likely have a big ...

The Pastapadre Madden 10 Online Franchise has reached the playoffs. This has been a really successful regular season and having the promise of a draft and some sort of free agency moving forward has made it much more sustainable than a regular online league. As mentioned in the previous article there will be some teams open however those won't be filled until after completion of the playoffs. I will have a posting up come that time for anyone who is interested. Continue on for analysis of Wi...

Since launching in mid-2008 Hulu has become a most popular online destination for watching TV shows and movies. Many networks have made the decision to partner with Hulu and offer their programs, while a handful of movie studios have made deals to have their films shown on the site. Hulu has remained free having been sustained through advertising and their media partnerships. Earlier today however it was announced that Hulu will begin charging and likely in subscription form. The change w...
  • New NCAA Basketball 10 Gameplay Video

Yet another new NCAA Basketball 10 video has been released. This one features some presentation examples from the CBS and ESPN broadcasts along with some gameplay featuring North Carolina @ Duke and Villanova @ Georgetown. While the video displays a Top 25 this is just the default Top 25 in the game and not a result of a dynasty mode simulation. Also for some reason the commentary barely audible which is a shame as that is an integral part of the presentation experience. Continue on to wa...
