Director Roland Emmerich is well known for his penchant to wreck the earth in most spectacular ways possible. Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow, and Godzilla are previous attempts at just that. He returns with 2012 as series of events result to the destruction of the world as we know it. The 12/21/2012 date is famous because the Mayan calendar ends on that day leading some believe that it signifies the end of the world. (more…)...

When any movie is a massive success, let alone with the unprecedented nature achieved by The Dark Knight, there will always a lot of speculation surrounding a follow-up. Over the past year there have been reports of various castings being made which have not panned out as well as script ideas or simply the current status. The culprit for starting much of the rumors has been Michael Caine. He has now made news again with the following statement. As for the future... if they ever make another...

The recent job cuts at EA are unlikely to have much if any effect on the majority of the yearly sports titles but one aspect of the company's new strategy could very well change the landscape of sports gaming. EA is cutting the bottom third of their software lineup based on potential profitability. The numbers are in from Friday and 2012 pulled in 23.7 million. While the movie will be somewhat front-loaded that is still a great opening day take. 2012 now looks to be on its way to a 61 million opening weekend. It will end up as a big success despite the risky 200 million budget as disaster movies always draw well overseas. Worldwide it may gross 150 million or more just this weekend. Industry expectations for the opening weekend at one time were for 60+ but had been scaled back somew...

As mentioned a while back when the rosters for Madden Arcade were being put together they are limited and consist of just 10 players. Each team has a QB, HB, WR, TE or 2nd WR, and OL on offense and the defense gets one DL, LB, S, and two CBs. The rosters released by EA also include lists of "Entourages" which are additional offensive and defensive lineman. It is currently unknown what these represent. It could be they are used in a separate game mode or maybe they are involved as one of t...

2012 has the feel of a summer blockbuster and as such no other studio placed a film to go up against its opening weekend. A few weeks ago the industry expectations had 2012 bringing in over 60 million for the weekend but as release nears the target number seems to have drifted down to the low-mid 50s. Starring John Cusack and Amanda Peet, 2012 is the work of director Roland Emmerich who has brought previous disaster movies such as Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow to big screen....
