Late last night I posted an article regarding the lack of NHL 2K11 being mentioned in the list of titles for Take Two over the next fiscal year. NHL 2K had been included in the report in previous years making its omission glaring. The situation is mirroring that of College Hoops before it was officially canceled. Chris Littmann at First Cuts was able to get comment from 2K Sports regarding the future of NHL 2K. As he points out the following statement speaks volumes as to the situation. ...

Ever since Take Two decided to shut down College Hoops due to the lack of sales potential vs development costs the next game that appeared to be in danger was the NHL 2K series. Sales have been dropping to miniscule levels as EA Sports NHL has grown and dominated the market. While it has been clear that resources have been limited with NHL 2K there have been no official statements made as to the future of the franchise. However now there is an indication that NHL 2K11 may not be in develo...

The long awaited arrival of Avatar is finally here as it opens today in a record number of 3D and IMAX screens. Playing the role of counter-programming, or depending on perspective being led out to slaughter, is the comedy Did You Hear about the Morgans? With approximately 2000 3D screens, 178 IMAX screens, and other locations showing the regular 2D print Avatar is primed for a huge opening. It won't have the same massive screen count of other blockbusters but that could end up adding to ...

The first trailer for Shrek Forever After arrived today. The movie is the fourth in the massive franchise and while this is supposedly the last Shrek there are spin-offs planned. This time the story has Shrek feeling over-domesticated so he cuts a deal with Rumpelstiltskin. Of course that ends up going awry leaving him to see Far Far Away as it would be if he had never existed.  Shrek Forever After is slated to release on May 21st 2010. ...

One of the most highly anticipated films of 2010 is Christopher Nolan's Inception. His project following The Dark Knight is a movie still largely shrouded in mystery. Leonardo DiCaprio and Ellen Page star and the little known about the plot comes from the teaser trailer and the tagline "your mind is the scene of the crime". The full theatrical trailer will be be playing in front of Sherlock Holmes so the wait won't be long to learn more about it. Inception is slated to release on July 16th 2...

Thanks to the ESPN preview for MLB 10: The Show the cover athlete has been confirmed as Minnesota Twins catcher Joe Mauer. Speculation had him as one of the most likely candidates and was determined to be the top possibility in the prediction article last month. It was also worth noting that the first screenshots released for the game had him prominently displayed in two of the six. The choice of Mauer represents a refreshing move out of the Northeast for cover representatives. Previous year...
