#6 of 2009: NBA Live 10
The ranking of games in the best of 2009 list is based primarily on the personal amount of enjoyment had with a particular title. Some other factors include whether advertised features were fully delivered on, post-release support, community interaction and communication, overall gameplay experience, feature set, and online play performance. Again this is a personal take on the games. The analysis is weighted largely towards those which I had the most fun with while considering them as a who...
Avatar Soars Past $100 Million in Five Days
After pulling in $77 million over the weekend Avatar made $16.4 million on Monday and $16.2 million on Tuesday. These are huge numbers for weekdays and a clear indication that it is benefiting from the incredibly strong word-of-mouth. Avatar has now made $109.5 million in just five days of release.
The only movie to open higher than Avatar in the history of December was in 2007 with I Am Legend. That movie followed up a $77.2 million weekend with a $7.5 million Monday in comparison. I A...
Review: (500) Days of Summer
"This is a story of boy meets girl. But you should know up front this is not a love story". That is how (500) Days of Summer is introduced and it holds true in what is easily one of my favorite movies of the year. This is not a conventional romantic comedy. Instead it is one of the most honest stories about relationships I can remember ever being on screen and it really hit home.

Week 15 Ratings Change Suggestions
While the next roster update for Madden 10 remains scheduled for January 8th the tracking of performance from week-to-week continues here. Last week a lot of my reaction was to seeing teams that had been struggling for quite some time actually receiving more upgrades than downgrades in the last update. Since then there has been some bounce-back by teams such as the Steelers and Giants. With such a tight race for the playoffs between a few teams in the NFC and a bunch of them in the AFC the end...

Ads in Madden 10 Causing Some Dismay
In-game advertisements in sports games are nothing new. For the most part they have been integrated well to actually enhance the immersive nature of the sports they are attempting to replicate. Madden 10 certainly has its share of sponsors displayed in differing ways though the majority of which don't get in the way of the game being played.
However since the latest patch was released there has been a level of discontent building in the community regarding the pop-up ads that appear above...
Review: Sherlock Holmes
Sherlock Holmes arrives for the holidays as one of the most anticipated movies of the season. This is due in large part to the charisma of Robert Downey Jr. who plays the famed private investigator as Guy Ritchie attempts a reboot of the story. Unlike some other franchises which have gone with origin stories, the characters in Sherlock are already established as they take on a new and challenging case that has the fate of England in the balance.

Backbreaker Website Launches
Earlier today the official website for Backbreaker went live. After a countdown on the page for the last three weeks it seemed as though the build-up was going to result in more than it actually did. No significant new game information has been revealed nor has the finalized release date or price. Those could very well be Tuesday April 27th and $49.99 based on Gamestop info but they have yet to be confirmed.
There are a handful of new screenshots that can be viewed on the website. It is a...
