Earlier I posted up the full features list for MLB 2K10. Now IGN has released the first hands-on preview of the game. There is a distinct tone of discouragement carried throughout which is not typical of most previews which tend to be glowing or give the benefit of the doubt on issues. Included in the preview is talk about the My Player mode which appears to be primarily focused on clutch situations, the formula for pitching with the right stick being made more accessible, a defensive swing ...

With less than seven weeks until release the first information on MLB 2K10 has finally made its way out. The big addition looks to be with the My Player career mode and MLB Today which were features initially introduced in NBA 2K10. While this is the complete features list it doesn't appear to represent everything new or improved for this year. Instead it introduces the features that will be most heralded for 2K10. Work the corners – Based on each pitcher’s mechanics and offic...

Last week EA Sports announced they would be going forward with Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online. However the wording associated with that was specifically tailored so as to leave the door open for making a change to the standard yearly console versions of the game. The internal discussion appears to still be ongoing as a third party survey has surfaced that asks two questions related to the situation. EA has had the luxury of not needing to rush to a decision given that the Tiger games don't rel...

The first gameplay video of MLB 10: The Show came out of CES late last week. Being demoed at the same event were Sony prototype 3D TVs with a handful of their games including The Show. Obviously this video isn't going to display itself in 3D but it does offer an opportunity to get a look at it in action and listen to the comments of those in the room. It's clear that this is a technology that will be integrated into games in the coming years as consumers adapt 3D capable TVs. What interest ...

After NBC announced plans to move Jay Leno back to 11:35 all eyes have been on Conan O'Brien who had the big decision to make. He could either do "The Tonight Show" at 12:05 or leave the network. He has chosen to do the latter, and while monetary details aren't being specified by him it is believed that he will be owed $80 million in the process. So what is to come next? According to his statement he has no offers on the table at the moment. Apparently he will negotiate the buy-out of his c...

After premiering very well the focus turned to how Chuck would hold up in its standard time slot on Monday nights at 8pm. There was thought that going head-to-head with House along with CBS' monster comedies and The Bachelor would eat into its ratings, but it appears that the competition provided by a huge Simpsons ratings draw on Sunday was comparable to what it faced on Monday night. Chuck pulled in 7.3 million viewers and had a strong 2.6 showing in the 18-49 demo. Those numbers provided...
  • Football With Project Natal Discussed

ESPN has posted up an interview with David Hufford from Microsoft that goes through various features of the Xbox360 and the ways they tie into sports gaming. What is most interesting is when the subject of Project Natal comes up as the response is all about how it could potentially work with a football game. I think what Natal is going to enable is a whole new level of interactivity. You can imagine huddling up with your guys and you call a play in the huddle with your voice. You don't use th...

The final roster update for Madden 10 won't arrive until the Friday before the Super Bowl but for the sake of keeping track of performance these posts will continue until then. Wild Card Weekend had three boring games before it was closed out by an incredible offensive battle and stunning OT finish. Some of the names of note that performed well included pretty much everyone offensively for the Cardinals and Packers. Charles Woodson won Defensive Player of the Year so he should see a boost f...
