I never envisioned the SNL skit "MacGruber" would be turned into a movie. It seems like most everyone that hears about this expects it to be terrible and its tough to argue against that. Personally I've never found the skits to be funny at all. That being said there is actually some buzz around this movie that it pushes unexpected limits and has gotten great response in test screenings. The first trailer came out today and somewhat surprisingly being red band it implies the movie will have an...
  • Tim Tebow Rumored For NCAA 11 Cover

Everyone fully expects Tim Tebow will be on the cover of NCAA Football 11. That could happen as the cover athlete for just one particular system with EA Sports having provided different covers for each version the last two years. There is also the chance that a player with the collegiate stature of Tebow would provide reason enough for EA to go back into just having a single universal cover athlete. So it comes as little surprise that a report today states that Tebow is close to finalizing ...

While the Conference Championship games will still factor into the final Madden 10 roster update some more trends can be found from the Divisional games played this weekend. Like the Wild Card games the weekend was saved by the final one while the others were blowouts. The results throughout the playoffs are to be considered in the next update. Keeping track of some of the standouts, Shonn Greene continued his strong showing with the big TD run against the Chargers. Ray Edwards and basicall...

The Golden Globes just wrapped up after an entertaining evening. Ricky Gervais was hilarious as the host though he only appeared sparingly. There were some surprises as the night seemed to favor underdogs in many of the categories. Continue on for the winners in each category and my initial thoughts on each. (more…)...

Kotaku did an interview with EA regarding the team names that were recorded by the announcers in NCAA Football 10 for use with Teambuilder and the process involved. Joystiq has the news that Tecmo Bowl Throwback will be arriving as a downloadable title for the 360 and PS3. Based on the SNES version of Tecmo Super Bowl it will have updated graphics and sound effects but will keep the original plays, teams, and presumably players from the original. Destructoid has a comprehensiv...

It was the fifth straight weekend at the top of the box office for Avatar but The Book of Eli and The Lovely Bones performed well and slightly above expectations. Avatar is quickly approaching the record held by Titanic of the highest grossing movie of all time. It is already over $1.6 billion worldwide and at this pace could surpass Titanic in the next couple weeks. No one seriously contemplated this happening before Avatar came out and anyone would've been laughed at suggesting it could a...

There were also some big developments that will affect the future of the games in terms of development and direction. Here are links to all the year end articles for those who may have missed them. The Golden Globes are generally entertaining due to the laid back party atmosphere. Taking advantage of that will be the host Ricky Gervais as it airs on Sunday night at 8ET/5PT on NBC. Outside of the hilarity he is sure to deliver there is some genuine intrigue in the categories this year. While the Globes are voted on by the Hollywood Foreign Press they are still seen as an indicator of the upcoming nominations and potential winners at the Academy Awards as well. I went through each categ...
