EA Sports has released the first official screenshots for NBA Jam. Two of them are brand new while the other is the first one that leaked out early last month. The screens show the graphical style that includes real face images pasted on to the 2D bodies. NBA Jam currently does not have a release date but is expected out in fall of this year for the Wii. The sixth and final season of Lost kicked off last night with a two hour premiere. Rather than posting some of my thoughts in the article I'll add them in the comments to avoid spoiling (don't read them unless you've seen the show)! Make sure to leave your reaction and any theories in the comments as well for discussion. You are also welcome to take part in the discussion thread in the forums....

Both EA Sports and 2K Sports have now presented their spin on the Mike Wang departure from EA and return to 2K. EA states that NBA Live will continue with a sim focus while 2K is attempting to make Live look bad while boosting their own cred. As with most things of this nature the truth likely lies somewhere in between the the extremes being presented. (more…)...
  • Reaction to the Oscar Nominations

For the most part the nominations for the 82nd Academy Awards went as expected. The acting categories are almost all considered to be locks for one winner with the other nominees mostly the same as earlier award shows. With the Best Picture category expanding to 10 films it would be hard to complain about ones that didn't make the cut. Still there were a couple surprises and a few nominations or omissions that I noted. The most glaring snub seems to be with Star Trek not getting a Best Pict...

While I am not at liberty to disclose the candidates that will be up for the Madden 11 cover athlete vote I will be dropping some hints today and tomorrow leading up to them being revealed on Thursday. For those of you following me on Twitter I briefly mentioned a few vague details yesterday and even eliminated some names that had been guessed. As I first stated upon initial reaction given that EA Sports would need to come to an agreement with any player before offering them up as a potenti...

We now know why EA Sports was eager to reveal that lead gameplay designer Mike Wang had left NBA Live after just over a year on the series. Wang is returning to the NBA 2K team. I've been talking about the developments throughout the evening on my Twitter and ESPN has posted up an interview with him that details why he left and adds concerns about the future of NBA Live. "When I went over there (to EA), a lot of it was for personal reasons. I wanted to try something new, try a new challenge. ...
