Sam Bradford Solidifies #1 Status
The highly anticipated Pro Day for Sam Bradford took place earlier today, and all accounts are that he came out of it having impressed those in attendance. Gil Brandt, former Cowboys VP of player personnel, actually said that Bradford's workout was the best he had seen since Troy Aikman. Pete Carroll tweeted that he "lit it up".
While not everyone will be making those caliber of claims at least publicly, it appears that Bradford threw with good velocity which was the worry going in give...
How to Train Your Dragon Wins The Weekend
The animated film How to Train Your Dragon opened well with $43.3 million over the weekend. The Dreamworks Animation production has been loved by critics and audiences and opened right within the range of industry expectations. I thought it had the potential to do better though, as inferior family films have been able to approach or exceed $50 million. There were also the increased ticket prices that went into effect this weekend which could have contributed to larger numbers.
Is it the fir...
Pastapadre Turns Three!
It's hard to believe but today marks the third anniversary for the website. Time has really cruised by and I continue to be astonished by the growth and continued support from the community. What began as a side project has turned into something much more, and I hope to continue to cultivate that growth as I envision even bigger things down the line.
While the sports gaming coverage continues to be the main focus, over the last six months I've introduced expansions with the Entertainment Di...

The Line Drive is a weekly collection of news, links, and updates that didn’t necessarily warrant their own postings.
Another indication of (shocker) Tim Tebow as a cover athlete for NCAA Football 11. He was doing promotional work for EA Sports last week. Reportedly in January he was close to closing a deal.
Owen Good at Kotaku posted up a interesting article covering his time in Vegas making bets on NCAA Tournament games based on the results of a sim he ran in NCAA Basketb...
QB Draft Rankings
Here is the first set of positional rankings heading into the NFL Draft. This one focuses on the quarterbacks, not a particularly deep crop of talent this year. There are 12, maybe 13 that could go in the draft with a handful more likely to be picked up as UDFAs.
I will be posting up rankings focused on each position over the coming weeks. The lists may change as opinion adjusts or news comes out that affects the stock of the players. These rankings are based on my personal analysis of the ...
Chris Johnson Wants On The Madden Cover
Tennessee Titans RB Chris Johnson is now in the news due to statements made about how he should be the highest paid offensive player in the league and how he feels he has been slighted by not being offered the cover of Madden 11. Instead the cover athlete for the game, which will be announced prior to the draft, this year is being determined based on voting results. Drew Brees, Jared Allen, and Reggie Wayne are in the running.

Motion Poster for The Other Guys
Sony Pictures has hit on a neat concept with the release of a "motion poster" for The Other Guys. Starring Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg and directed by Adam McKay (Anchorman, Step Brothers) the movie also includes Dwayne Johnson, Samuel L. Jackson, Craig Robinson and Eva Mendes. The plot involves two detectives who get an opportunity to step up from their "B Team" status but things don't go exactly as planned. The poster auto-plays so be warned to check your volume before going in. The Other...
