Some are understanding of the situation in which this was born out of while others are taking offense to the idea in general. I've put together some various thoughts on what the "Online Pass" means and where it could lead. Feel free to continue to leave your thoughts in the comments! (more…)...

I've made no secret of my love for Kick-Ass but its performance at the box office has been somewhat disappointing. It didn't turn out to be a huge hit that some, including Lionsgate, had been hoping for. That being said it is already profitable and cruising to a respectable take. It cost just $30 million to make and has pulled in a worldwide total that is currently at $73 million. Its prospects on DVD are also encouraging. CLINT is a new magazine being spearheaded by Mark Millar who created...

A comment I made on Twitter the other day struck up a discussion that made it obvious the implementation of GameFlow for online play in Madden 11 hadn't been clarified completely. GameFlow play-calling will remain as an option for unranked games, and can be either turned on or off for Online Franchise, but GameFlow will be activated for all ranked games. With GameFlow turned on either party can access the full playbook it just requires a button press in every instance in which the desire is...

Paramount has announced that Mission: Impossible 4 has been pushed back from an original release date of May 27th 2011 to December 16th 2011 and confirmed that Brad Bird will be directing. Bird has previously directed a number of animated films including Ratatouille, The Incredibles, and Iron Giant. The film will be produced by JJ Abrams and Tom Cruise returns in the starring role as Ethan Hunt though the character may be in a transitional period of sorts as M:I4 is being talked about as bein...

NBA Live 11 and NBA 2K11 will be releasing on Tuesday October 5th. It now appears that too could end up being the date for the release of NBA Jam on the Wii. We've known for sometime that the game was set to release in Q3 (October-December) but it was uncertain where it would fall in that range. No release date has been confirmed for NBA Jam (and may not be for some time) but indications are it will also release on October 5th. EA Sports does not release NBA Live on the Wii so there would b...

The Line Drive is a weekly collection of news, links, and updates that didn’t necessarily warrant their own postings. The next patch for MLB 2K10 has reached certification and should be out within the next two weeks. 350K people played Madden 10 online once and then never again. That is a large number but probably not as significant as it sounds. The latest UFC 2010 developer blog answers some questions submitted in relation to the demo. The latest Backbreaker...
