The focus of the Padrecast this week falls heavily on the two games set to release in the next eight days. Discussion on the Backbreaker demo (full impressions posting tomorrow) kicks things off. That is followed by thoughts on the UFC 2010 Undisputed code situation and a healthy rant against reviewers handing out scores to UFC despite not having even played online. Below is just some of what is discussed in the 53 minute running time. Download the podcast directly from here or listen us...

It was a down weekend at the box office with both new openings coming in way under industry expectations. Though the Shrek brand had been tarnished by the last release it was still thought to be strong enough especially considering a lack of competition and the opportunity to be buoyed by 3D ticket prices. Industry projections were were mostly in the $100 million range though some believed it could reach $130 million. It ended up taking in only $71.3 million. It almost sounds unreasonable t...

Overall I've been really impressed with the organic nature of the player interaction and tackling and have found myself enjoying the running game as well as kickoffs. On the other hand issues with the camera, the CPU's inept offensive performance and particularly their frequent throwing of INTs, and dislike of the passing game have pulled me in the...

Major Hollywood studios and Time Warner Cable are in discussions to create what is for now being called "home theater on-demand". This initiative would deliver movies to homes as early as 30 days after they release in theaters. The Wall Street Journal has the story on how the normal four month wait period could be trimmed to just one month and be offered through on-demand. This would not change when movies would be released on DVD/Blu-ray as those would stick with the typical four month gap. ...

The full details on what the patch delivered can be found here.
