EA Sports and the NCAA could be close to announcing a licensing agreement that would introduce college hockey into the NHL series. Paul Kelly of College Hockey Inc. has stated that the NCAA has been in talks with EA Sports for some time now and are close to reaching that agreement. Along with college teams a deal would also include Canadian major junior teams. Recently the inclusion of the CHL was announced for NHL 11. It is unclear whether adding an NCAA component would be possible in the ...

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed a list of what is said to be the final candidates to take on the role of Peter Parker in the reboot of the Spider-Man franchise. The list of five actors is made up of relative unknowns with Josh Hutcherson (Zathura, Journey to the Center of the Earth) being the most experienced of the bunch. He has just committed to a sequel for Journey which could be a conflict if he is chosen for the role but he is still thought to be the favorite. The others on the shortl...

Earlier today the news broke of the NBA Live series being rebranded NBA Elite and with that a drastic shift in the direction of the franchise. Now thanks the OXM preview in its July edition it is revealed that the game will also be introducing real-time physics. In addition to that the heavy reliance on analog sticks will mean both dribbling and shooting are mapped to the right stick. It was just last week we learned that EA Sports is introducing real-time physics in the NHL series. Both ga...

ESPN is reporting that 2K Sports is making a strong push to try and sign Michael Jordan for the cover of NBA 2K11. At this point it is just a rumor from unnamed sources but apparently it would represent more than just a marketing deal. ESPN goes on to state that Jordan would be included as a playable character in the game and the company would attempt to buy the rights to several other individuals from Jordan's playing days. If the rumors are true, it will mark the first time that a former pl...

The first indications that the NBA Live franchise was in the midst of going through a transformation of sorts began making their way out in early February. Talk of the series going in a different direction came from departing team members which EA Sports did little to deny. Now the first signs of big change are being to be discovered, and prior to E3 where it is likely that at least some of the vision for the game will be laid out. The NBA Live name is no more. This year's NBA title from EA...

With UFC 2010 Undisputed in hand I have gone through and timed different loading areas when running off the disc compared to running off the hard drive on the 360. Installing to the hard drive not only has proven to cut down on load times, in some cases significantly, but it also reduces stress to the system and the noise it produces. UFC 2010 has some lengthy load times in a bunch of areas and also stutters some throughout navigation. Installing to the hard drive brought noticeable i...

Given my disdain of the early reviews overlooking online play (article here and discussed at length in the Padrecast) I've been following all the early developments for UFC 2010 Undisputed. I'm sure glad we got those perfect score reviews out as early as possible so as to gloss over the problems that would be found primarily with online play. Since the reviews didn't want to examine any of these things I decided to collect them and get them out there so as to push for them to be addressed. ...
