Now it has been confirmed that she has gotten the role. The Victoria's Secret model has no prior acting experience but Michael Bay has successfully launched the careers of newcomers in the past including Fox. At the time I posted my initial impressions of Backbreaker I had been unable to play online. Now that I have I wanted to get some early thoughts out regarding online play. Many people may be looking to online to salvage the game given the troubling CPU AI faced offline. I'm pleased to say that so far just the elimination of CPU QB play and CPU play calling has made the experience much more enjoyable. However lag issues are being monitored and a puzzling design decision within the online option...

Two pictures with high expectations debut to relatively flat openings. Sex and the City 2 and Prince of Persia came in below expectations as Shrek Forever After won for a second straight weekend. For the three days Shrek took in $43.3 million, SATC2 $32.1 million, and Prince of Persia $30.2 million. They'll get the benefit of the Monday holiday tacked on as well but for a Memorial Day frame at the box office it was one of the slowest in 15 years. Shrek Forever After fell 39% from last weeke...

The Line Drive is a weekly collection of news, links, and updates that didn’t necessarily warrant their own postings. FIFA Superstars has launched on Facebook. Click here to access the application. The game is free to play with optional microtransactions. I had wondered if the "Online Pass" would eliminate Gamestop preorder deals for EA Sports games. It may not have done that but it seems to have at least reduced their importance. Madden 11 will get you 20,000 coins f...

Back in March the news slipped out that EA Sports' NHL franchise was headed to the Wii. It turns out it won't be a version of NHL 11 that hits the Wii but instead it will be branded as NHL Slapshot and include a hockey stick controller attachment. The Toronto Sun has revealed the news and gone into some details of the game including that Wayne Gretzky will be the cover athlete, how the controls work, and the career mode. It’s hard to say what the biggest news is here. That EA is finall...
