Last month it was UFC 2010 Undisputed that came in with an unprecedented 59% year-over-year sales drop for the first month. In June it was the Tiger Woods franchise that experienced a huge sales decline, though the reasoning behind the decrease for both games would be completely different. While we don't have the exact sales number Tiger Woods 11 (Wii) did not chart in the top 10 while last year it placed fourth with 272K. Going by the numbers that have been released for the games in the top 1...

With two teaser trailers having already hit for The Social Network (those can be found through the tag page) Columbia Pictures today released the full theatrical trailer. The considerable buzz continues to build on this film with the effective teasers and now this excellent trailer. That combined with the credibility of the well regarded book  it is based on, the script having been written by Aaron Sorkin, and having David Fincher as director has resulted in it already receiving talk about ...

As I first reported during E3 the Madden 11 demo will feature full five minute quarters, and we've known for a long while now that the matchup would be New York Jets vs Indianapolis Colts. Gamespot today revealed more details which includes the news that the demo will arrive for both the 360 and PS3 on Tuesday July 27th. Also noted is the difficulty level will be selectable, gameplay sliders will be available to tweak, the game will be played at the New Meadowlands Stadium, and the ability ...

Entertainment Weekly has released the cover of their latest edition which features the first look at Ryan Reynolds as The Green Lantern. Set photos have only shown Reynolds wearing a gray visual effects suit. That is because the costume will be completely computer generated. Expect the look to be put more on display at Comic-Con next week. The Green Lantern is slated to release June 17 2011. ...
  • Trailer for Due Date

    Posted July 14th, 2010 at 4:03 pm 2 Comments »
Warner Brothers has released the first trailer for Due Date. The film stars Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis and is directed by Todd Phillips (The Hangover). In Due Date a soon-to-be father (Downey Jr.) has to hitch a ride with an aspiring actor (Galifianakis) in order to make it back in time for the birth of his child. I saw this trailer in front of Inception and the crowd ate it up. Definitely produced a vibe similar to that of The Hangover and not just because of the parts involve...

  • NCAA 11 Hard Drive Evaluation

Continuing with the series of Xbox 360 hard drive installation evaluations I've gone through and compared several aspects of the game based on loading times from the disk vs the hard drive. The NCAA Football series has been especially plagued by long loading times, laggy menus, and tedious menu navigation and installing should help with some of that. Unfortunately the loading times for NCAA Football 11 remain abnormally long compared to other 360 sports titles and there is still some noticeabl...

    Posted July 14th, 2010 at 11:25 am 1 Comment »
The first official image of Anthony Hopkins as Odin in Thor has been released. In the background you can also see Chris Hemsworth as Thor, for the first time holding his hammer, and Tom Hiddleston as Loki. Marvel has also announced that both Thor and Captain America will be released in 3D. Audiences have turned on post-conversion 3D this year and the percentage of gross attributed to 3D screens has been dropping with each release. Apparently the studio recognizes that proclaiming that they ...
