The Wii version of FIFA 11 will not only have the standard 11v11 gameplay but will also feature a 5v5 street mode known as "Hit The Streets". Essentially it sounds a lot like the FIFA Street games, bringing in the ability to use walls, build up power meters for shots, and activate speed bursts or shockwaves. Decked out in street wear, compete in 5 versus 5 street matches. Customize the rules of each match for a true test of skill. Plus, a variety of different types of goals, including elevate...

Given the regard to which Let The Right One In is held, the Swedish horror film from 2008, there was certain to be skepticism towards the American remake Let Me In. At the Comic-Con panel the creators tried to squash that concern and from all accounts they completely put them to rest. Let Me In is directed by Matt Reeves (Cloverfield) and stars Chloe Moretz (Kick-Ass) as a young vampire that befriends a boy who is constantly being picked on. The movie is slated to release on October 1st. ...

The demo for Madden 11 released yesterday and impressions started pouring in from everywhere. Continue on to check my stream of impressions on the Madden 11 demo and the game in general leading into the full release along with two lengthy gameplay videos and some screenshots. As always feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments! (more…)...

EA Sports has released a handful of screenshots featuring T.O. now that he has signed with the Cincinnati Bengals. It is a little odd to get special screenshots for a guy that pretty much no one wanted, yet his rating remains fairly high despite this. Owens comes into Madden 11 with an 83 overall and 88 speed and will team up with Chad Ochocinco and Antonio Bryant in the passing game, and open up the running game a bit more for Cedric Benson, making the Bengals now a more formidable offense to...

The Sony Holiday Catalog includes a list of titles that will have Playstation Move functionality. Many of them are games that are intended to showcase the motion controls, while others are current titles that will be implementing it as an alternate scheme such as Tiger Woods 11 and (and next year) MLB 11: The Show. NBA 2K11 is now confirmed to feature Playstation Move as a control option, and though it was mentioned at E3 (which slipped by me) how it will be used remains unknown. Like the o...

One of the surprises on the first day of Comic-Con was a teaser introduction to the fourth film in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Following the Disney panel for Tron: Legacy the following video played with Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow vaguely laying out the central plot for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. The movie is currently filming and is slated for release on May 20, 2011. In this action-packed tale of truth, betrayal, youth and demise, Captain Jack Sparrow c...

At the Comic-Con panel for True Blood a new trailer was released looking forward to the second half of the season. Needless to say there are major spoilers involved, and that even applies to anyone that is completely caught up on the series. However it is a a pretty cool look at what is to come with some wild suggestions being made in the footage. Often I find previews for the next episode to give a bit too much away, though sometimes it is misdirection, but I was surprised to see how much was...
  • Strategy Pad. Most Reviled Feature Since The Vision Cone?

Going into the Madden 11 demo I expected a somewhat flat response but what we have gotten (albeit in the early hours) is much more negative. While there are a number of things factoring into that the main one centers on the "Strategy Pad". There is essentially no benefit to the pre-snap adjustments being changed in this fashion and it has thrown a wrench into the level of comfort gamers have with Madden. The Strategy Pad now houses all the pre-snap adjustments via the D-Pad. The most commo...
