    The third roster update for Madden 11 released earlier this morning for the 360 and PS3 and includes over 500 total roster changes taking into account all the releases, signings, and trades that occurred through the NFL cut down to 53 man rosters. There are a few ratings changes mixed in but this update is primarily intended to settle the appropriate rosters in and the regular season updates will provide more in the way of ratings changes.     After a start to the year that saw dramatic declines in sales with UFC Undisputed 2010 and Tiger Woods 11, NCAA Football 11 was able to buck the trend by growing by 8%. Now the official numbers from NPD have arrived for Madden 11 and tell a similar tale. Overall sales for the game rose 12% year-over-year. (more…)...

    The demo for NBA 2K11 will be available on Tuesday September 14th for both the Xbox 360 and PS3. It will feature a single quarter of the Celtics vs Lakers but there are no further details on the structure as of yet. Previously it has been insinuated that the demo would include something unique (maybe a Michael Jordan "moment") but in the announcement no mention was made of anything beyond the standard match-up.     QuickHit Football has now relaunched as with the NFL integration, as the free-to-play browser based game now incorporates team logos, colors, uniforms, stadiums, and other NFL branding. Washington Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb, defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth, and Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson have signed on.   • EA Sports MMA Coming to iPhone

    The highly anticipated EA Sports MMA will be getting its own version on mobile platforms. It has now been announced that the game is being developed for the iPhone and iPod Touch (iPad was not mentioned). No release date has been set, though recent history suggests it will likely be out by the time the console versions hit shelves on October 19th.     The third patch and third tuning set for NCAA Football 11 is available on the PS3 yet currently it still has not arrived for the 360. It is unknown how long the 360 side will be waiting after it missed its announced release yesterday. The most immediate issue being corrected with these updates is the pump fake glitch while also fixing the QB spy glitch, adding in-season player progression, and making gameplay tweaks via the tuner.     A very interesting development today as it has been announced that the Stephen King novels that make up The Dark Tower is going to be made into a series of movies and TV shows. Taking the seven novels into a project has seemed almost overwhelmingly impossible until this plan for it was developed. The Dark Tower follows "The Gunslinger" and his quest towards the tower and discovery of its true nature.
