EA Sports has announced that worldwide sales of FIFA 11 have hit 2.6 million through October 2nd. Those figures include six days at retail in the US and only two days out in Europe. FIFA 11 is now the fastest selling sports game ever, topping FIFA 10 which broke the record last year with 1.7 million in its first week. With week four of the NFL season complete some clear trends can be spotted as to player performance with plenty of games now to evaluate from. There are some names that stand out prominently as outperforming expectations through this week such as Sam Bradford, Brandon Lloyd, Shaun Hill, Mike Tolbert, Rashard Mendenhall, LaDainian Tomlinson, and Kyle Orton (especially with no semblance of a running game). Chris Johnson may lose his 99 rating and the Bears offensive line should take a huge hit a...

With NBA 2K11 set to arrive in stores tomorrow the buzz is sky high. Consumer excitement is there for the game in general, but undoubtably it resides in the spotlight largely due to the inclusion of Michael Jordan. This is the first time that a basketball game has really transcended the typical group of sports gamers with the release becoming almost an event...much in the same way as how Madden launches every year. Not having a competitor is only accelerating perceptions and exposure at this s...

Warner Bros is going with Zack Snyder to direct the upcoming Superman reboot. Some earlier rumors pointed to Darren Aronofsky possibly taking it on and there were several other prominent names presumed to be in the mix. The studio has a great relationship with Snyder having housed 300, Watchmen, Legend of the Guardians, and the upcoming Sucker Punch. Snyder is best recognized by his distinctive visual style and somewhat dark stories, which makes Superman an interesting project for him given...

Spartacus is the first breakout hit original series for home network Starz, so the news that the title actor Andy Whitfield would have to go back into treatment for Non-Hodgkin lymphoma hit hard on two fronts. Not only was it sad news as it had been believed he was in remission after initial treatment that delayed production on season two, but the network was put into a tough position on how to proceed with the show. They could either end it or recast it, and obviously neither of those options...
