Second WWE All-Stars Gameplay Video
THQ has released a second video featuring a full match from the fighting game WWE All-Stars. The earlier video had two wrestlers from the 'Acrobat' class while this one uses "Big Men" as Kane takes on Andre the Giant. For those looking forward to a demo for All-Stars news on that is coming next week, which likely means it will be arriving on March 22nd. Continue on to check out the video and leave any thoughts in the comments! (more…)...
Review – Battle: Los Angeles
'Event' films typically appeal to large audiences with their high-level concepts. Many eventually disappoint because those concepts work better in short spurts or the dialogue and stories take a back seat to the special effects. Battle: Los Angeles takes on the always popular alien invasion storyline, and though flawed in ways it delivers exactly what it advertises all the while remaining just grounded enough to avoid the usual pitfalls. (more…)...
MLB 11: The Show Online Impressions
Online play has always been the achilles' heel of SCEA's MLB series. Whether due to lack of resources or foresight the performance has remained troubled to go along with head-scratching design decisions. MLB 11: The Show is really no different than any other year then. The online game experience is possibly improved, though still very inconsistent, and advancements in the way of options are largely off-set by other frustrating elements. (more…)...
EA Sports Bails on NBA Jam Support
EA Sports has released a statement in regards to NBA Jam laying out that the game will be receiving no further post-release support. When NBA Jam released in November it did so with rosters that were already out of date at the time. With the trade deadline in the NBA having passed and several huge transactions having taken place over the course of the season consumers had been looking for a roster update to reflect the moves. That will not be coming and neither will a patch to improve gameplay...
All 30 Authentic Broadcast Camera Angles in MLB 2K11
Both baseball titles this year introduced television broadcast cameras tailored to the specifics for each team. MLB 2K11's broadcast cameras appear somewhat less pronounced than those in MLB 11: The Show and a few are very different (the Braves for one). The only issue I have encountered due to the angles is with those stadiums where the view is zoomed out considerably like in Tampa. The ball cursor is so big, and the strike zone available so small, it is difficult to place pitches with any ...
Trailer for Bad Teacher
Columbia Pitcures has released a theatrical trailer for Bad Teacher. The film stars Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake, and Jason Segel and is directed by Jake Kasdan who helmed several episodes of the TV series Freeks and Geeks as well as comedy films such as Orange County and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. Bad Teacher is slated to release on June 24th.
Some teachers just don’t give an F. For example, there’s Elizabeth (Cameron Diaz). She’s foul-mouthed, ruthless, ...
Fight Night Champion Patch A Ways Off
Those eagerly awaiting a patch for Fight Night Champion have a significant wait ahead. Today it was posted in the official FNC forums that a patch can be expected to release "sometime in the next few months". I tend to think that was just worded poorly or the statement was made in an attempt to lower expectations and a patch would more likely be coming in the 4-6 week range.
Thankfully the series added the ability to deliver "Tuning Updates" which can be pushed out at any time without bei...
MLB 2K11 Franchise Sim Results
One area of MLB 2K11 that looks to be producing reasonably good results is the Franchise mode sim engine. I went through and simmed a single season and outside of one questionable trade the developments looked to be generally plausible and the stats realistic. Continue on for some screens from the mode including standings, stats, and awards winners. (more…)...
