Finally a legitimate sports game has come to Android while it has been available on iOS as well for some time now. During all the traveling involved with the E3 trip I downloaded 9 Innings Baseball 2011 and was impressed with the total package especially given that the game is free for Android and only .99 on iOS devices. Madden NFL executive producer Phil Frazier is the latest name to be leaving EA Sports according to a reliable source. It is currently uncertain where he is headed however two prime possibilities are Row Sham Bow - the new social gaming company started by former Tiburon GM Philip Holt - or the massive social gaming company Zynga which has taken on several former Tiburon employees in the last year. Frazier had become one of the faces of the Madden franchise over the past two years along wit...

This turned out to be a somewhat curious year for sports games at E3 as a whole. While there were a bunch that had a presence they were held in more restricted fashion than in the past. Madden was of course very prominent but outside of that the majority were held for behind-closed-doors showings only. That has resulted in Madden NFL 12 picking up some big momentum and the rest of the games seeing much more limited success out of the event. (more…)...

The Facebook page (appreciate it if you'd "like" it while there or in the sidebar!) now contains all 225 images captured while at E3 displaying the new 'Player Traits' in Madden NFL 12 and are sorted by conference and then division and team. Keep in mind these are just preliminary and may change by the time Madden 12 ships. In particular the number of "clutch" players will likely drop especially from any rookies that have it now. The "confidence" rating starts at three stars for all playe...
  • Review: Super 8

Director J.J. Abrams crafted a marketing campaign for Super 8 that attempted to disguise much of the plot and create mystery around the monster reveal. Wanting to respect that and experience it the way it was intended I entered the film having actively tried to avoid as much information on the film as possible. Super 8 is a call-back to some great films of the past and evokes a certain level of emotion rarely touched on in today's cinema. (more…)...
