The demo for NCAA Football 12 arrives tomorrow and it seems to hold added importance this year. NCAA's absence from the floor of E3 clearly stagnated its momentum at an inopportune time and follow-up footage of the game has failed to raise enthusiasm. The demo however provides the opportunity to regain traction as release nears. The demo features two separate matchups (Alabama at Florida State and Oregon at Texas) and allows for the unlocking of five different Nike Pro Combat jerseys for ...

  • Madden Player Traits Evoking Strong Response from Fans and NFL Players

Throughout the years the speed rating in Madden has not only largely dictated success on the field but also been the biggest point of contention from athletes in terms of getting their perceived respect. Overall rating of course was the first thing looked at but beyond that it always seemed to be the speed rating that players argued over. As soon as I started posting up images of the new 'Player Traits' being implemented in Madden NFL 12 it became evident that they were where the debate w...
  • James Spader Close to Becoming New Boss on The Office

The search for the replacement for Steve Carrel on The Office may be nearing its conclusion. Last year's finale introduced a number of prospective new bosses for the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin. Though fan response was split amongst the respective candidates the favorite coming out of it looked to be James Spader and he is now in talks to join the show full-time. According to TVLine however he may be in that spot only temporarily. The character of Robert California is unlikely to be...
  • Bills Finally Unveil New Uniforms Originally Leaked in Madden 12 Video

Today the Buffalo Bills unveiled their new uniforms to the public for the first time. The uniforms however were first spotted in one of the early teaser videos for Madden NFL 12. EA Sports quickly pulled the video but it was too late. The company took some heat from the NFL over the slip-up though the league typically signs off on promotional materials before they filter out so the fault there was likely split. The uniforms were not available in the build on display at E3 given that th...
  • Backbreaker: Vengeance Carries Hefty Price

Carefully omitted from the announcement of next week's release of Backbreaker: Vengeance on XBLA was the price. NaturalMotion has now followed up by stating that the game will go for 1200 MS points which is the equivalent of $15. That might be asking a bit much considering a comparable experience on iOS can be had for 99 cents and the full retail version of Backbreaker (which includes a 'Tackle Alley' mode) now goes for less even brand new. While there has been little promotion for Vengea...
  • Your Thoughts on NBA Draft Day 2011

Overwhelming opinion was that the 2011 NBA Draft was soft on premiere talent outside of the top two names though good players surely will develop out of the class. The Cavs went in with #1 and #4 and as expected snagged PG Kyrie Irving and then generated a mild surprise by taking PF Tristan Thompson. At #2 the Timberwolves hung onto their choice and took PF Derrick Williams and will likely look to deal one of their big men to make room. The Jazz followed up at #3 by taking C Enes Kanter who'...
