2K Sports is coming off the extraordinary release of NBA 2K11 which in most years would mean smooth sailing. Word of mouth from the previous iteration often is the biggest influence on consumer support and confidence and marketing wise the company has that in its back pocket. However with the NBA lockout official and expected to extend into the season the series now faces similar hurdles to those Madden NFL 12 dealt with earlier in the summer. More problematic is that 2K12 does so with a lab...

The NCAA Football 12 update to Teambuilder has gone live though users won't find many obvious changes to the web-based feature. The most notable differences involve the renovations to some stadiums and new uniforms for the respective teams who are introducing them this year. What will probably be of even more interest though is the ability to go through this year's rosters and ratings. That can be accomplished by going to the site, choosing to create a school, clicking the 'Roster' tab, a...

By most accounts Steven Stamkos was an excellent choice as the cover athlete for EA Sports' NHL 12. The one thing many initially overlooked however was his looming status as a free agent. The Tampa Bay Lightning had until today to exclusively negotiate a contract with Stamkos and prevent him from hitting the market. An agreement was not completed and Stamkos is now a restricted free agent. A scenario where Stamkos ends up on another team still seems unlikely but it's possible nonetheless....

The Gaming Tailgate has been kind enough to record a full game in NCAA Football 12 featuring the Apple Cup as the Washington State Cougars and their new uniforms travel to face the Washington Huskies. This game is played on All-American difficulty and was completed after simming up to that point in Dynasty mode so the commentary reflects its place during the season. Stats are shown following completion of the game. Make sure to follow all the coverage of NCAA 12 over at The Gaming Tailgat...
  • Review – Transformers: Dark of the Moon

The original Transformers is one of my favorite movies and I feel no shame in admitting that. The nostalgia factor of seeing the adaptation of a show I loved growing up captured me completely and the visuals and action scenes were stunning to witness. Expectation levels were different then, when it exceeded them, compared to the sequel which was primed for a let down. Revenge of the Fallen lost everything that made the first so great as even the action sequences were too convoluted to follow...

On the same day that owners have officially locked out the players 2K Sports has released the first screenshot for NBA 2K12 which features the NBA Champion Dallas Mavericks going up against the Miami Heat. Visible in the image are Dirk Nowitzki, LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade, DeShawn Stevenson, and Tyson Chandler. One thing that immediately stands out is the addition of 'playoff crowds' sporting the team colored shirts. Check out the screen full size in the gallery or FB alb...
