EA Sports has confirmed to me via Twitter that Madden NFL 12 will be available through the "Season Ticket" (for more on that check out my analysis on the subscription plan) tomorrow for the Xbox 360 at 10am ET/6am PT and the PS3 at approximately 6pm ET/3pm PT. The game will also be immediately playable after the download completes which is likely to take several hours (the file size is 4.8 GB). The digital copy will expire at 6am ET/3am PT on Tuesday morning but all saved files and achiev...
  • What Legend and Historic Team in NBA 2K12 Are You Looking Forward to Most?

I thought it would be interesting to gauge the excitement level towards the 15 legends that have been included in NBA's Greatest Mode for NBA 2K12. While Charles Barkley (and to a lesser extent Reggie Miller and Allen Iverson) have grabbed much of the attention lately regarding their absence from NBA 2K12 the featured lineup is intriguing and even the historic teams that don't include one of those 15 chosen legends offer some fantastic players and squads of the past. Check out the full roste...

2K Sports has released 12 new images from NBA 2K12. A couple display the historic team starting lineups (introduction screen) but the remainder focus on current NBA players such as Chris Paul, Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose, and Amare Stoudemire. Check out the new screens in the gallery or FB album!...
  • 2K Sports Addresses Absence of Charles Barkley from NBA 2K12

After it was clear that Charles Barkley would not be included in NBA 2K12 as one of the legends followed by the full historic team rosters being released Kotaku made the astute observation that 2K Sports had included a 76ers team that featured Barkley rather than choosing one of the previous year's squads. There was no reason why the 84-85 Sixers were chosen over any of the others that featured Dr. J prior to Barkley's rookie year. Not having him on the roster is a glaring miss as inst...
  • Review: Contagion

    Posted August 24th, 2011 at 8:45 am 3 Comments »
An alarming  portrayal of a viral outbreak and its fallout Contagion is essentially a real life horror story - one that very well could prompt concern of a scenario that is unfortunately not far fetched. A fast spreading disease appears out of no where making its way through the population and the movie follows a handful of characters and their different perspectives and circumstances. Expertly orchestrated by director Steven Soderbergh Contagion feels a lot like like an independent...

Having been working with Madden NFL 12 practically around the clock since late last week I thought it would be a good idea to outline the coming coverage and set expectations. Come early Friday morning a ton of content will be posted on the site - until then however I am unable to make any comments about my time with Madden 12 or release any media. However feel free to leave any comments on what you're hoping to hear about in the impressions or see in images and videos and I'll take those un...

NBA Jam: On Fire Edition will feature the classic Seattle Supersonics pairing of Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp. The duo was not included in last year's NBA Jam release due to a licensing issue but EA Sports and the NBA were able to work out the details this time around for the digital download offering due out in October for $15. The Sonics team will be rounded out with Detlef Schrempf. Check out the full article over at ESPN. The write-up also includes info regarding online modes planned fo...
