The latest patch for NBA 2K12, that arrived last week for the PS3, has gone live today for the Xbox 360. This particular update was pushed out to address some of the more pressing issues with gameplay and online - and impressions of its impact from the PS3 side have been mixed. Encouragingly it hasn't seemed to introduce any new issues to deal with at the very least. Most are finding online games are connecting quicker but not much improvement to online performance and stability otherw...

One thing being worked towards for a while now is finding a way to offer, on a semi-regular basis, giveaways of anything from games to movies to gift cards. That starts this week with a copy of the just released Modern Warfare 3 for the Xbox 360 up for grabs. (more…)...
  • Madden NFL 12 Week Nine Upcoming Roster Update Discussion

The post-week nine roster update for Madden NFL 12 will hit late this week - and after Eli Manning got his "clutch" trait back the question may now come of whether Joe Flacco should join the club or if Philip Rivers will fall out of it. With mini-camps lost due to the lockout many expected ugly football to begin the season but surprisingly offenses were pretty sharp. Now, at the mid-season point, defenses seem to have caught up. Names to look for an increase from this week include Julio J...

As Black Friday approaches the deals of video games will be widespread and that'll be tracked on the site, but right now coming off the Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale of last week comes another opportunity to secure one of the top sports games of the year at a reduced cost. FIFA 12 is being offered on Amazon, today only, for $40. When FIFA 12 released at the end of September the online retailer was offering a $20 promotional credit - so the $40 price essentially brings it back down to that level. ...

Recently the first screenshots for FIFA Football on the upcoming PlayStation Vita handheld were released - and along with that some discussion on the viability of handhelds in this age of mobile phone gaming. Now comes the full list of features to expect and that includes touch screen controls, Be-a-Pro career mode, and online play. There is no doubt it makes for a much richer FIFA experience than that found on the iPhone - the question though is how big the market will be for an offering at...

The patch that was announced last week for NCAA Football 12 has arrived early for the PS3 with it still planned to go out for the 360 tomorrow. Post-release support for NCAA 12 has been reasonably strong but unfortunately it has been forced to primarily concentrate on fixing serious problems rather than being able to take the opportunity to improve the game from where it should have been originally. In this patch some of the "Transfer Failed" errors for Online Dynasties are supposedly bei...

Today Starz announced that Spartacus has been renewed for a third season - even as its second isn't slated to start up until January 27th. Liam McIntyre takes over the lead role in Spartacus: Vengeance after the terribly sad passing of star Andy Whitfield. Production on the third season (yet to be named) will begin in 2012 and is likely to air in early 2013. Spartacus: Blood and Sand premiered in 2010 and became the network's first real breakout hit in original programming. The series' fi...
  • Kinect Sports: Season Two Impressions

With the first year anniversary of Kinect for Xbox 360's release having just passed it's interesting to study how much (if enough) the hardware and it's implementation in games has advanced over that time. Kinect Sports was one of the early favorites utilizing the controller-less system last year and now the follow-up has arrived with Kinect Sports: Season Two. The result is a somewhat more defined product that carries with it most of the faults of the original - and without some of the c...
