  • Gameplay Improvements to Pitching and Hitting in MLB 2K12

It's been clear for a while that MLB 2K12 wasn't going to bring a whole lot new to the table. While 2K Sports attempts to market it with the $1 million competitions and by flaunting out Kate Upton they've done little to provide any credibility around this year's product especially following the release of poor initial screenshots and an embarrassingly thin features list. Now though the first official blog has gone out which goes into detail on gameplay enhancements with the focus on th...

Though still hoping to get enough opportunity to craft full online impressions for Friday the servers for UFC Undisputed 3 are making that a difficult proposition. Online play has been completely down at times whether on the Xbox 360 or PS3 - and as detailed yesterday many other problems have been encountered even when online has been accessible.  (more…)...

"LINsanity" has taken over as one of the best sports stories in recent memory continues to roll. In the last 6 games (5 of which he's started) Jeremy Lin is averaging 26.8 PPG, 8.5 APG, 3.8 RPG and last night even hit the game-winning shot. The Knicks, playing without Amare Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony for most of it, are undefeated in the 6 games. Given the fan and media attention on the story the first opportunity to reflect the remarkable stretch made for quite possibly the most high...
  • THQ Teases New WWE Mobile Game

    Posted February 15th, 2012 at 8:15 am 7 Comments »
In posting the above image on their WWE Games Facebook page yesterday THQ effectively teased the upcoming announcement of a new WWE branded game which is expected to arrive on the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad within the next few months. On February 21st details and/or a trailer are expected along with the official announcement. After recently trademarking the name and a leaked trailer that followed not long after (which was quickly pulled by THQ) speculation turned more concrete that it w...
  • Alistair Overeem Codes for UFC Undisputed 3 Not Reaching All Intended Recipients

It seems a large number of people who signed up for the free Alistair Overeem code through UFC Undisputed 3's Facebook page - which was available to claim beginning in late December and through much of January, and then was opened back up again until last Friday - didn't receive the code today as expected. The codes were apparently all sent out this morning but many, myself included, even after checking spam folders and such didn't receive it. In response THQ has set up a page where co...
  • Recapping the Madden NFL 12 Player Trait Feature and Changes From the Season

One of the more valuable gameplay-centric additions in Madden NFL 12 came with player "traits". They allowed for improved player differentiation on the field, another way to target the right players in Franchise mode to fit a particular play style, and additional items for fans to debate outside of just ratings. The feature added a new level of definition to players that had been desperately needed for a long time but there is room to expand on that going forward.  (more…)...
  • Michael Bay Returning for Transformers 4

Even though Michael Bay had previously stated the trilogy would be it for him as the directing Transformers it will come as a surprise to very few that he'll be taking the reigns on Transformers 4. Bay made the announcement on his website yesterday. Transformers: Dark of the Moon made over $1.2 billion worldwide so Paramount was more than happy to sign him to continue the franchise while at the same time allowing him to make his "passion project" Pain and Gain prior to doing so. The resul...
