After a weak set of releases last week there are number of good options this time around on DVD and Blu-ray. Puss in Boots got great reviews and excellent response from audiences, J. Edgar was thought at one time to be an Oscar contender but didn't quite live up to that stature, and Tower Heist got some really respectable reviews for a comedy - there are also the latest seasons of two Showtime comedy series. Puss in Boots (Buy at Amazon: DVD or Blu-ray/DVD combo) Long before he even met ...

When the NBA 2K12 roster update earlier this week arrived and only moved Jeremy Lin up to 69 overall most fans felt that was still too low considering the impact he was having on games and his rising prominence in the league. Essentially what Lin was doing in real life simply couldn't be replicated in NBA 2K12 given the ratings he had. Today 2K Sports released another update and this one takes Lin to a more respectable level and in the range of what most people anticipated he would ...

In addition the entire soundtrack will be available to stream on the Spin website beginning on Tuesday February 21st. There are less than eight months until the new crop of NBA games arrive - and after a two year absence that'll mean competition for 2K Sports with EA Sports debuting their new sim series being developed out of the Tiburon studio. Following the release of NBA 2K12 I discussed the environment surrounding NBA video games and whether consumer discontent with that game was opening the door for EA Sports to succeed in their return. The conclusion was that the impact would be minimal with the '1...

  • First Few Minutes of the Tiger Woods 13 Legacy Challenge Mode

EA Sports has taken some heat from the more passionate fans of the series for the addition of the "Legacy Challenge" in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13. Despite that it is shaping up to be the feature that attracts those outside of the hardcore crowd. That's what the addition of The Masters did last year - and those more casual consumers likely would have been lost without something new to hook them in. Playing through the different stages in Tiger Woods' life is just that and a considerably compell...
