Netflix Announces Next Original Series
The fifth original series produced and distributed by Netflix will be a prison-set dramedy called Orange Is the New Black. All 13 episodes will be available to watch beginning on July 11.
The show chronicles a woman (Taylor Schilling) whose relationship with a drug runner (Laura Prepon) gets her sentenced to a year in prison. It also stars Jason Biggs, Kate Mulgrew, Taryn Manning, and Natasha Lyonne and comes from Jenji Kohan who previously created the Showtime dramedy Weeds.
