    On Sunday mention was made that women weren't going to make their way into FIFA 14. Despite a strongly supported petition and females appearing in the NHL franchise along with an expanding presence in Tiger Woods the combination of work that would need to be done and lack of time to do so (and possibly an evaluation of return on that investment) resulted in EA Sports shutting the door on the idea for this year at least.  (more…)...

    Though talk of a feature film for 24 has been ongoing for a long time - the idea of it was raised even well before the series ended its run in 2010 - it has never gotten off the ground and lately was considered to be dead. Apparently that won't stop a return of 24 just in a manner which no one would have expected.     The first look at Alfonso Cuaron's (Children of Men, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban) sci-fi thriller Gravity has arrived by way of a teaser trailer. The film stars George Clooney and Sandra Bullock with the story taking place in space as astronauts attempt to get back to Earth after debris wrecks the space shuttle.     A tweet from Madden NFL creative director Michael Young to Adam Schefter has made it evident that the ESPN reporter has an as-yet-to-be-explained role in Madden NFL 25. Though he was a part of the in-game Twitter feed heading in to do work for the game suggests he'll factor in more significantly than that. @adamschefter Great working with you today.     Paramount has announced that Tom Cruise is officially signed on for the next entry in the Mission: Impossible series. A director has yet to be chosen but Christopher McQuarrie, who directed Cruise in Jack Reacher, is considered to be the odds-on favorite. Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol grossed nearly $700 million worldwide making it easily the most successful yet.     The first at the sci-fi comedy from Edgar Wright The World's End has arrived with an international trailer. The film re-teams Simon Pegg and Nick Frost again and includes Martin Freeman and Rosamund Pike.     Two recent server side updates were pushed out for MLB 13: The Show. Two patches have been released to date for the game - and no indication of another being in the pipeline - but server side updates allow for online-related issues to be targeted or minor additions made without having to go through an extensive patching process.   • FIFA 13 Sets New Sales and Digital Revenue Records; EA Lays Out Release Schedule

    The biggest sports video game series in the world is showing no signs of slowing down following several years in a row of breaking its own records. FIFA 13 sold nearly 15 million copies from its release late last September through the end of March. That represents a 30% increase over what FIFA 12 sold over the same period.  (more…)...
