  • Next-Gen NBA 2K14 Rosters Now Outdated By Over a Month

While there has been plenty of justified grousing over the lack of post-release support - both in quantity and quality - from 2K Sports in regards to the NBA 2K series in recent years one of the advertised features for NBA 2K14 was "Dynamic Living Rosters". The hope was that would bring an end to inconsistent and inaccurate updates. While the Xbox 360 and PS3 version of NBA 2K14 has gotten a fair number of roster updates (though not fulfilling all promises) the Xbox One and PS4 have yet to r...
  • Next-Gen NBA 2K14 Patch Expected Soon

2K Sports has taken to social channels to announce a patch for NBA 2K14 on the Xbox One and PS4 that will be out within the next week. The update will target issues related to MyCareer save files and connectivity problems with the new online mode The Park. It's uncertain if the patch will address much of anything beyond those two things including the high frequency of crashes being experienced by a significant number of consumers. Considering that the messaging was limited to just MyCaree...

  • Differences in Xbox One and PS4 Versions of Madden NFL 25 and NBA 2K14

One of the most common questions out there relating to the Xbox One and PS4 is whether there are any differences in multi-platform games. As far as sports games go on a technical level there shouldn't be - they are running at the same resolution and framerate - but that doesn't mean they are exactly the same. Continue on for my observations after having played both Madden NFL 25 and NBA 2K14 on the two consoles.  (more…)...

Now that all teams have completed their bye weeks five games remain in the final stretch of the season that looks to determine the sixth playoff spot for both conferences. Meanwhile the Chiefs may have to go up against the Broncos without Tamba Hali and Justin Houston in a game that will either keep them in the division and home field race or ensure they'll be the five seed. Players expected to go up following strong performances include Mike Glennon, Knowshon Moreno, Keenan Allen, Josh G...
  • Next-Gen Madden NFL 25: Hits and Misses

Madden NFL 25 was a disappointment on the Xbox 360 and PS3 but the arrival of the Xbox One and PS4 brings promise of a fully featured product with improved gameplay and atmosphere. That would certainly represent a much better entry situation than how the previous generation was welcomed in and for the most part EA Sports has achieved that goal. It just may not be enough to get consumers excited since the base product it builds on was already lagging so far behind in the minds of many. (more...
  • Xbox One vs PS4 Loading Time Comparison

Despite all the improvements that have been welcomed in with the arrival of the new hardware one hope that hasn't been realized is that of significantly reduced loading times. With that in mind I tested Madden NFL 25 and NBA 2K14 and how long the process took in booting up the games and getting in and out of the action. Interestingly despite the increased power capabilities on the PlayStation 4 it is the Xbox One that is proving to have an edge in loading the games faster. Where the PS...
