The timing couldn't have been worse for a planned announcement today of the winner through fan voting to share the cover of EA Sports UFC with Jon Jones. One of the two finalists, Georges St-Pierre, this morning announced that he is officially taking an indefinite leave of absence from the UFC and in the process will vacate the welterweight title. The belt will now go to the winner of Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler at UFC 171. GSP comes off a controversial win by split-decision over He...

FIFA 14 is the standout while NBA Live 14 failed to reach even the lowest of consumer standards. The polls posted last week to gauge satisfaction levels generated nearly 20K total votes. Continue on for how the results shook out and what it means to the games in question.  (more…)...

Though a relevant time of the year due to the Winter Meetings and free agency period, December is not when baseball video games sell. Events taking place now will only be reflected in the next game out and that wait will stretch until 3/4/14 with the release of MLB 14: The Show. That makes it an effective time to offer a deal on the PS3 version of MLB 13: The Show and capitalize on some of the interest in the media right now. Sony is offering the game digitally for just $10 to PlayStation...
  • VC Implementation Threatens The Future Of The NBA 2K Series

It's somewhat startling to look back just a few weeks and see evaluations of NBA 2K14 that did not mention alarming tactics instituted by 2K Sports that would greatly affect consumers. The game for all intents and purposes requires an online connection and VC has been baked into almost every mode in a way that detracts from the enjoyment of the product. Of course reviews also didn't bother to check how worthless the Online Leagues were and whether online even ran properly, and they wouldn't ...

On the heels of the first roster update for the Xbox One and PS4 versions of NBA 2K14, which dealt with bringing the roster mostly up to date after going nearly two months without any alterations, another has released today that addresses the two biggest stories from Sunday. Kobe Bryant has been activated following his highly anticipated return. Injured players are unable to be used in next-gen NBA 2K14 as rosters can't be edited and saved to the hard drive. So ironically Kobe was availab...
