  • Madden NFL 16 roster update heading into the Super Bowl

    The roster update following Conference Championship weekend is now available in Madden NFL 16. It is by far the smallest update of the season, affecting only 21 players, with 18 of them being from the four teams that were just in action. The NFC Champion Carolina Panthers get six players who's ratings move up and for the AFC Champion Denver Broncos it's five. Check out all the details in the spreadsheet here.     The cycle of adding in still relevant sports games to the "Vault" in EA Access on Xbox One, which holds the back library of titles on the console, is about to begin for this year. In a bit of a surprising move Madden NFL 16 will be the first added rather than Rory McIlroy PGA Tour. It'll happen on Tuesday, February 2.     There are a couple very interesting developments out of today's roster update for NBA 2K16. The top rated player in the game has opened up a bigger lead over the next highest individual, while a player in the spotlight for the wrong reasons has been hit with some punitive action.   • Lengthy EA Sports UFC 2 stream focused on Ultimate Team and gameplay

    The closed beta for EA Sports UFC 2 opens up today and in advance of that the publisher held a live stream to go over the new Ultimate Team mode, which was detailed thoroughly yesterday, and feature stretches of gameplay. The audio from creative director Brian Hayes and UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson was out of snyc but it's an informative look at a few elements of the upcoming game that runs for over two hours.  (more…)...

    Details and a new video released today have gone further into detail on how Ultimate Team will work in EA Sports UFC 2. The mode features "teams" of up to five fighters in different weight classes, coins to purchase packs containing special items boosting fighter performance, and customization to improve and alter moves and attributes.     Electronic Arts has long had an immense presence at E3, holding down the prime spot right at the entrance of the Los Angeles Convention Center South Hall, and holding a press briefing between those of Microsoft and Sony on the Monday before the show floor would open. That's all changing this year. EA will not have a booth at E3 and their press briefing will now take place on Sunday, June 12.     MLB The Show 16 had the first reveal of feature details and teaser trailer early last month. That included "Showtime" (a bullet-time type feature for Road to the Show and Player Lock), retractable roofs, six classic stadiums, new cards for Diamond Dynasty, and mention of two new modes that were being held back to announce at a later date.
