ESPN the Magazine has revealed all of the players in Madden 08 that have a 99 overall rating. Peyton Manning (QB Colts), Champ Bailey (CB Broncos), Walter Jones (OT Seahawks), LaDainian Tomlinson (RB Chargers), Steve Smith (WR Panthers), Brian Urlacher (LB Bears), Steve Hutchinson (OG Vikings), Ed Reed (S Ravens), Troy Polamalu (S Steelers) The only player in that group that stands out as questionable is probably Polamalu. He certainly was the one name I didn't expect to see in that l...

In the third entry detailing and showing off specific improvements in Madden 08 (previous ones featured sideline catches and gang tackling), VJ LeBlanc goes over what is new with the blocking in the game. There is way too much included for me to recap it, so I'd suggest you check out the full blog writeup. You can read it in its entirety here. For the video below: 1. The first example is of a defender sinking the double team, allowing the linebacker to (potentially) make a tackle. 2...
  • More new running back screenshots from Madden 08

EA has released seven more screens from Madden 08 featuring RBs who are with new teams. Willis McGahee of the Ravens, Travis Henry of the Broncos, Jamal Lewis of the Browns, and Ahman Green of the Texans.  I'm not sure what is with the trend of Jamal Lewis leaping in his screenshots from EA, last I checked he could barely get off the ground. Someone must be a big Browns fan over there and somehow excited by the pickup of Lewis, not to mention how many Browns screens we've seen latel...

Expect a demo for The BIGS to make its way to the Xbox Live Marketplace next week according to xboxdomain. It is unknown whether the Playstation Network will see one also. It would've been nice to have the demo prior to the release date (Tuesday the 26th) but it is a good move to put it out there nonetheless. While there has been overwhelmingly positive things said about this game from the media (and personally I'm very excited for it) it doesn't feel as if there is much buzz out th...

Up until now the hard line from EA regarding NBA Live 08 was how gameplay was the focus. That was going to be the selling point this year. It was only a matter of time though until we an idea of an actual theme for the game. It looks like we have that now, with "Go-To basketball". IGN has written up the first look at four of the new features for the game that make up that "Go-To" experience.  We saw the Go-To Moves video earlier today and that one is expanded upon. The ...
  • 2K’s marketing taking hits left and right

You know its not a good sign when the marketing of a game becomes the most discussed topic about it. Whether it be on the 2K Sports or Operation Sports forums (really the only two places the game is being discussed at all), reading up on All-Pro Football 2K8 you'll find many comments and threads talking about the marketing (or lack thereof). When message boards are overrun with marketing discussion something has gone terribly wrong. If that isn't bad enough, right in the ...
  • NBA Live 08 “Go to Moves” video

IGN has released a new video featuring the idea of "Go to Moves" in the game. Producer Brian Ulrich introduces how the superstar players have more than just their signature shots but they have their own unique moves. The footage is pulled directly from gameplay and looks quite good for this early in development. How well the go to moves flow within gameplay will be the most important thing, however for an early look at them (Kobe, Dirk, Wade) their moves appear to be well represented. ...
  • More new NCAA Football 08 videos

There are three more videos up on Gametrailers for NCAA Football 08. The first shows off more gameplay with Ohio State at Michigan. The cool part of this video is that the game is played in the snow, and unlike previous years the snow accumulates on the ground. So much so that you can't see the field. The second video is another tutorial from the game, this time touching on the new features within the gameplay. How can you not love the trick plays? The automatic pre-snap motion should b...
