There are a couple of things going on in the community that are worth mention. Before I get caught up in the NFL games and my addiction to GameShow I wanted to post a few items that are of interest. (1) EA is trying to get a feel of how many people use the vision cone in Madden. They are considering removing it from the game completely for 09 in order to free up the right analog stick for another use. I appreciated the attempt to appease the hardcore crowd but it was a flawed idea that...

Night number two of GameShow and once again I got locked into it for over four hours. Thought I would add some more observations. Again if anyone has feedback or suggestions I can have that passed along to the team at EA. I made a couple notes on things I'd like to see below as well. -I've added a tag page for GameShow. So any postings related to it can be found there in one place. Just click gameshow in the tags section of the sidebar. Right now it includes the initial news that GameShow h...

IGN has posted up an official trailer for March Madness 08 as well as a producer blog featuring Sean O'Brien. In the blog he goes over in detail some the new features for this year. He covers the Dynamic Post Play, classic teams, atmosphere/commentary. You can check it out here. There were a couple interesting pieces of info revealed in the blog. The demo will be released on November 19th for the 360 and PS3. Surely not a coincidence, that is the day before rival College Hoops 2K8 is ...
  • Madden 08 roster update #4 gets updated
    by

EA has released a revised roster update #4 which originally came out on October 23rd, the details of which you can find here. It seems likely that the motivation to do so came from having a few players with the incorrect race, such as the newly added Koren Robinson. This gave them the opportunity to make a handful of other changes that occurred too late to get them in before, such as moving Ronnie Brown to the IR and replacing him with the recently signed Samkon Gado....

I have a major problem with EA Sports GameShow. It is way too addictive. I didn't expect to be, but I got hooked on it within minutes of firing it up. I had planned to feel it out and run through a couple of the sessions, but ended up staying on for almost four hours right through the end of the live broadcast portion of the day. I used to enjoy trivia type games. I loved the different versions of You Don't Know Jack when I was younger, but I didn't anticipate having that same interest now....
  • Details on the Madden patch

As I previously posted, the second (and more significant) patch for Madden 08 is on the way. In a producer blog the details of what will be fixed with this patch were revealed. Fumble Fix - Reduced fumble chances in certain situations. This has been tested thoroughly and we feel that people will be happy with a more realistic (and more fun!) number of fumbles. This was priority number 1 for us. DB Reactions- changes to the way that DBs play man coverage. Defenders in man coverage won't...
  • EA GameShow has fully launched

It appears that the launch of EA GameShow has come and gone under the radar. It had been in closed beta for a short while but now is fully operational and open for anyone to play. The free sports trivia PC game is now available for download at the official website. You'll need to create an EA ID, but if you already have one you'll be able to skip that step. I have no idea how my EA ID wasn't already registered but it didn't come up so I had to do that anyway. Then download and install the p...

There is an excellent interview over at Totalvideogames with FIFA Street 3 producer Joe Nickolls. It goes into great detail on many aspects of the game from the technical side (such as using the NBA Street: Homecourt engine and using the AI from the FIFA series) to talking about many of the game modes and how it can be compared to the previous FIFA Street games. You can check out the full interview here. Various media sites have also posted up their hands-on impressions which are a little...
