This time instead of an entire game I have around four minutes from three different ones. Maryland @ Villanova, Wisconsin @ Tennessee, and Penn State @ Texas. These were all played on varsity difficulty and default settings. Up next will be some classic videos and a shorter clip with the game speed pushed up to compare to the default. I should have my initial impressions of the game up by Sunday morning. Continue on to view the videos. (more…)...

Here is another full game once again broken down into three videos. This matchup has the Oregon Ducks traveling to face the Washington Huskies. Varsity difficulty with 10 minute halves and default settings. I'm not sure why but this one just seemed to flow better than the first. Even the game speed seemed a little quicker. I think you guys will notice the difference between the two. Part of it probably has to do with how I'm beginning to get more comfortable with the controls and the type...

IGN has posted their latest preview of NFL Tour which you can check out here. They have also added the first videos of the two mini-games "Smash and Dash" and "Red Zone Rush" among some other new gameplay ones and a sizzle trailer. The preview doesn't really contain any new info but the videos are worth a look. At the event I'll be attending next weekend I'll be able to get a lot of the questions about the game answered along with basic impressions. Before I leave for that I'll post up the...
  • First full game of March Madness 08

Here is the first full game I played of March Madness 08. Featured is the USC Trojans @ UCLA Bruins. The game was played on varsity difficulty with default settings and 10 minute halves. So you'll notice UCLA's jerseys immediately because the players all are wearing short shorts. I chose those on accident. The game doesn't tell you which are throwbacks and which aren't. They just state "home" or "away". And since it just shows the jersey and with UCLA's the only difference between the two...

There is an interesting rumor coming out in regards to the potential sale of Take-Two or just their 2K Sports division. Originally posted by the site Xbox Family, there is some talk that Microsoft could buy 2K Sports and resurrect the Xbox Sports Network through the 2K games. They could then expand to other sports as well. The Xbox Sports Network was introduced with the original Xbox and included games such as NFL Fever and NBA Inside Drive. In this scenario Microsoft would then have t...
  • March Madness 08 coverage set to begin

Unless some unforeseen circumstances occur I am expecting my copy of March Madness 08 to arrive today. I should have some time to compile my initial impressions compared to the demo and post a video or two. The demo was disappointing to me however EA has stated that they made adjustments based on the feedback and that will be the first thing that I really look for. I've found in the past that the demos don't always accurately represent how the final version of the game feels anyway. Over ...
  • Jose Reyes is the MLB 2K8 cover athlete

1Up has announced that Jose Reyes has been chosen by 2K Sports to be the cover athlete for MLB 2K8. Statistically he stands out with his number of stolen bases and runs scored and he plays in the huge NY market. It is a curious choice however given how the Mets were a complete embarassment at the end of the season when they went through one of the biggest collapses in sports history. This does thankfully break the streak of three straight years of Derek Jeter and five straight years of...

I have received the list of changes that have been made with the first NBA Live 08 roster update which was released today for the 360 and PS3. Only player movement was made in this update. No ratings were adjusted. Unfortunately it looks like there will be no updates to the FIBA rosters despite earlier statements to the contrary. The next roster update will probably arrive sometime around All-Star Weekend. Continue on to view the full list. (more…)...
