GameShow December update coming Monday
Thanks to the blog posting on the EA GameShow website we know the full details of the December update. It is set to be released on Monday morning 12/17.
Earlier in the week back I mentioned some of the new features and improvements that were planned along with some of my thoughts on them. Now we have a more extensive list of what will be in the 1.1 version.
I'm excited for the new release and should get a chance to try it out on Tuesday. I'll post my impressions of the changes soon after...
New MLB 2K8 interview
IGN has conducted a new interview with MLB 2K8 producer Ben Brinkman which you can check out here. In a way it feels like an extended follow-up to the post release MLB 2K7 interview which I summed up here when that came out. To note, the screens that are associated with the new interview are of 2K7. None have been released yet for 2K8.
The interview offers up a few details about the direction that the franchise is headed although not too many specifics are discussed over the course of a v...
Getting time in with NFL Tour
I have arrived in New York for the NFL Tour event where I'll have the opportunity to get some hands-on time with the game, discussion with producer Phil Frazier, and a chance to chat with Trey Wingo who does the commentary for the game.
While I'm out here the site will continue to be updated though it may come more in bunches than at different times throughout the day. Look for my initial impressions of the game to come by early Monday morning although I may have something sooner than tha...
NFL Tour gets an even better price
EA has adjusted the pricing strategy lately on the PS3 and 360 taking games such as March Madness 08 and the upcoming FIFA Street 3 and releasing them at $49.99. NFL Tour was also slated for the lower price as noted back in early November.
However EA has now reduced the price of NFL Tour even more. The game will be only $39.99.
Again this makes a lot of sense given that they are hoping for more people to give it a chance and eventually build it into a yearly or bi-yearly franchise. Als...
MLB 08: The Show release date
Gamestop/EB has added MLB 08: The Show to their websites with a release date of 3/4/08. While it hasn't been confirmed and could be changed, generally the games don't go up or have details about them change without receiving specific information from the companies.
Last year the PS2 and PSP versions of The Show released on February 27th. They took extra time with the first effort on the PS3 as that one was pushed back all the way to May 15th.
The PS3 version will go for $59.99 and the ...
FIFA Street 3 trailer and new screens
A new FIFA Street 3 trailer has been released. This one shows a lot more than the previous one which just had a solo Ronaldinho doing ball tricks. There are also 10 new screenshots out and those have been added to the gallery.
The art style of the game is pretty neat almost like they're caricatures of the real players. That meshes pretty well with the angle the game takes on the sport. It'll be interesting to see what it looks like from the actual perspective when playing the game.
The...
NCAA Football 08 patch for 360 is out
The patch for the 360 version of the NCAA Football 08 has been released by Microsoft. This is the same patch that came out for the PS3 back at the end of October. EA was able to work around technical conflicts that seemed as though they were going to prevent the patch from coming to the 360.
The patch addresses such issues as toning down the fumbles, more realistic defensive AI, and the ability to better lob passes. It also includes clock extensions allowing more time to choose a play on...
NFL Tour achievements
The achievements for the 360 version of NFL Tour have been revealed. There are only 14 of them (three of which are still unknown). They're pretty basic and unless the remaining ones contain something online related there are none there. That is somewhat disappointing on both counts.
You can see the entire list here....
