The time has come for an NHL arcade title
After the recent success of the New Years Day Winter Classic which was played outdoors between the Penguins and Sabres, the sport (at least temporarily) is back in the consciousness of general sports fans and more casual hockey fans. The ratings for that game represented the biggest viewing audience since 1996 and was played in front of over 70,000 fans. NCAA Football 09 coming to the Wii
Over the last few months there has been speculation that the Wii would be getting its own version of NCAA Football with the 09 releases. Along with Fight Night it seemed to be a natural fit as the next franchise from EA Sports to transfer over. Demo for NFL Tour now available
The NFL Tour demo is now available for the PS3. It will be coming to the 360 Marketplace as well, however it seems likely that it won't be out until next week. The demo features the Patriots against the Chargers with one minute halves (the default in the game is two) and can go into overtime. Feel free to post up your thoughts in the comments section. PS3 Madden patch nearing release
I have received word that the patch for the PS3 version of Madden has nearly cleared certification by Sony. As I noted last week it was looking as though the first full week of January would be a good bet for when it would arrive. That appears to be the case as the expectation is it will be out on Friday or sometime early next week. First videos from MLB 08: The Show
Two videos have been added to the official website for MLB 08: The Show (PS3) discussing features while displaying some gameplay footage. They've since been added to Gametrailers and I've included them here to watch by continuing on. The first is all about the "Replay Vault" which allows for the ability to watch any play that has occurred in the game. MLB 2K8 at CES?
One topic being discussed right now has to do with the possibility of MLB 2K8 being shown at the Consumer Electronics Show which runs from January 7-10th in Las Vegas. While MLB 2K7 was shown at CES last year, 2K is not on the list of exhibitors currently published on the official website. The important thing to remember is CES is primarily a hardware event. How to improve Superstar and Campus Legend for 09
Campus Legend and Superstar modes have become very popular as an alternative to the standard offline Dynasty or Franchise modes. Allowing for someone to play the game from the perspective of a single player is appealing and unique all the while coming across as less intimidating to play through.
