The March issue of Game Informer has made its way out and it includes an article on MLB 2K8 that mentions a few previously unknown details about the game. There is so much content included in the game that it couldn't all fit onto the 360 disc. Free downloadable content will be provided for what was left out Apparently the 360 version of the game is lacking the unlockable stadiums and Cool Base alternate uniforms that the PS3 version has. Because of that they will be made available on rele...

Earlier today I posted a series of MLB 08: The Show screens showing off a player-umpire argument. Now SCEA has unleashed even more. The media push is really on with release day now under two weeks away and the demo out and well received. These screens feature the Dodgers @ Astros, Tigers @ Royals, Rangers @ Orioles, and Dodgers @ Cubs. My personal favorites in this bunch show off the Royals wearing their powder blue alternate uniforms. I've added a couple of the new ones below (click the ...

SCEA has released series of seven screenshots showing off an argument apparently spurned by a personality conflict in MLB 08: The Show. The ump has made a call that the player disagrees with and emotions are heated. It doesn't appear to have ended amicably. Click the thumbnails below to view the images full size. All other screenshots collected for The Show thus far can be found in the gallery. I noted in my initial demo impressions that you could see some examples in the...
  • Eli Manning Madden 09 cover rumor

Following the Super Bowl I wrote an article about how Eli Manning had propelled himself into consideration for the cover of Madden 09. Being that it was just a couple hours after the game ended that was just pure speculation on my part. However now there is buzz going around that not only is he at the top of the list, but that he is actually in negotiation and appears to be EA's top choice for 09. The problem with this is the basis of the rumor comes from a random forum post on an obscure M...
  • Upcoming MLB 2K8 conference call

I will be sitting in on a conference call for MLB 2K8 taking place with producer Ben Brinkman on Friday. Considering the relative lack of media on the title so far this should be a good opportunity to get some more insight into the game. With the anticipation and speculation surrounding when the demo will arrive I'm certain that will be a topic that is addressed. I submitted a couple questions and there should be a large pool of them drawn from and responded to considering the amount of t...

The interview held with Peter Moore has sparked some good discussion and the reaction has been interesting to follow. One of the more frequently commented upon topics is Moore's use of Metacritic as a major basis for considering Madden 08 to be an excellent game. While in some ways it may have been, everyone would agree that there is a lot of room for improvement in the series. That got me to thinking. I'm of the belief that Metacritic is not the best method for determining how good a gam...
  • NBA Live OTP night five recap

It was an interesting night of OTP with the new roster update plus some different developments. That led into a really entertaining dunk contest at All-Star Saturday Night which I was glad that I didn't pass up watching. The first real problem participant was involved and it took two attempts at games to figure out who it was. He was calling timeout after timeout prompting technical fouls and was intentionally fouling on defense. That is why I've suggested there needs to be a way to boot ...
  • More MLB 08: The Show demo videos

Here are two more full three inning games from the MLB 08: The Show demo. The pitching view has been switched in these with the the first being from "Outfield" and the second set as "Pitcher". If you missed my initial impressions and game video you can find that here. So far the only disappointing things I have found from playing the demo is that players walk/run/slide right through each other (no collision detection) and that the HR camera tends to lose the ball. I also had an instance w...
