EA Sports has posted up a Q&A taking submitted questions from the community answered by the development team behind NFL Head Coach 09. The game is currently slated to release this fall, with Gamestop listing it as the first week of September. That would make sense given the NFL season kicks off that Thursday. Some of the items discussed include the navigational and procedural changes, the combine and draft, and new rating attributes. You can check out the full Q&A over at the offi...

One of the biggest topics in regards to MLB 2K8 has been the revamping of the pitching mechanics. Total Control Pitching rests solely on the right analog gestures and the timing of release. I think 2K had the best of intentions with this and appreciate the effort that was put into it. However the motions have to be so precise and even being off just slightly can be devastating. The whole concept of the "Meatball" is flawed and ultimately that is the cause of most concern. A pitch that is ...

So after having attention diverted towards playing The Show online and playing the rival baseball title, Padre was able to get back into his Road to the Show. Going through the rest of Spring Training there was some improvement made at the plate. He finished ST having batted .255 with 9 RBI and 4 steals. Not exactly impressive numbers but at least they had come up from the sub .200 he was sitting at earlier in ST. (more…)...

While I've previously gone through my initial impressions of MLB 2K8 and MLB 08: The Show, I figured it would be interesting to match the two games up in different categories and determine which came out on top. Of course those with only a 360 don't have a choice in the matter, but it's important to know what is being done well and what isn't both on their own individual terms as well as competitively for the future of these franchises. The two games headed into release taking completely ...

Even in pre-alpha stage the movement is really impressive. You can definitely see how free each animation is and how it can be broken into another at any time. The quick jukes look fantastic and could be really effective. Over the past few years one of my biggest complaints with the football games has been the sense that they almost feel scripted. You can pretty much know what is possible to happen on a given play and there weren't going to be any surprises. Of course the majority of big ...

Gametap was able to land the first NCAA Football 09 related interview with product manager Kendall Boyd. It's interesting that EA is out this far in front already laying out some details. We've got some dates for the future cover announcements so that may give an idea of when to expect even further info on the actual game. Some of the topics gone over include the importance of the gameplay and how they want to open it up this year, improved atmosphere, the new breakaway animation engine, ...
