Gamespot has posted up the first NHL 09 preview, trailer and screenshots which you can check out here. Among the features discussed are the arrival of Be A Pro mode, control enhancements, furthering of create-a-play, expansion of Online Team Play, and a "mystery" feature which is supposed to be "massive". One of the most intriguing aspects of Be a Pro mode in NHL 09 is the different types of roles you'll be able to serve when creating your player. Not only will you be able to play as a goalie...

As revealed prior to the start of game one of the NBA Finals, Kevin Garnett is the cover athlete for NBA 2K9. He follows a year in which Chris Paul had the cover and turned out an MVP caliber season. Garnett has helped lead the Celtics to the best record in the NBA and the appearance in the Finals. Considering that the announcement was made in conjunction with the Finals many people assumed that to mean it would be be one of the likely participants. Garnett was the most likely choice given ...

So things have died down a bit since coming out of the community event. I was worn down by the work and travel time and haven't felt well since last Thursday, not to mention other draining activities I'm in the midst of. So I wanted to keep everyone updated with the latest. I've also added a poll below about the NBA Finals which begin tonight. Did you know Pastapadre has a forum? Believe it or not it is true. The link "Forum" in the header will take you there! Or you can click here if you ...

On May 13th I posted a poll looking to gauge which of the upcoming football games was the most anticipated. NCAA Football 09 pulled in 57%, Madden 09 got 35%, and NFL Head Coach 09 managed 7%. At the time those results didn't surprise me. From a new feature standpoint NCAA Football has the edge, whereas Madden took on more of a reinvention that didn't really click until I actually got to experience it first hand. The Head Coach numbers actually seemed encouraging, as it is likely that most ...
  • NCAA Football 09 top 25 toughest places to play

Something I neglected to add into my impressions from the community event was the list of the toughest places to play in NCAA Football 09. It was hard to judge how much difference there is from playing at a difficult venue compared to a mild one. QB composure seemed to be the most significant aspect of realizing the effects regardless of where you were playing, and it may be that the more intimidating the environment the more rattled opposing QBs can get. Here are the top 25 toughest places to...

I decided to compile as much of the content as I could find coming out of the community event last week that covered Madden 09, NCAA Football 09, and NFL Head Coach 09. I will continue adding to the list as they come in. Continue on to find links to the content here as well as other community sites in attendance. (more…)...

Something that has been taken note of over the past few days is the immediate response to community suggestions. Things like toning down the camera flashes, adding a kick return play with a single returner back, making the weather affect play more, and turning off the passing icons when a QB drops back too far all appear as though they may be acted upon for Madden 09 despite the time constraints. One topic that has been discussed not only lately, but over the past few years has been uniform...
