  • Facebreaker Discussion in the Forum

While the demo for Facebreaker offered a unique opportunity to try out the Photo Face feature, ultimately it was only a snippet of what to expect from the full game. While I started to see the strategical nature emerge after multiple play throughs, being limited to 90 seconds of intense gameplay wasn't the ideal way settle into the full experience. Todd Batty, who previously headed up the highly acclaimed NBA Street: Homecourt, is the lead designer for Facebreaker. He has expressed a desi...
  • Brett Favre Traded to the New York Jets

It's now official...Brett Favre has been traded to the New York Jets. For the first time ever a cover athlete will be playing for a different team than the one represented on the game. What does it mean for Madden 09? While a roster update is already out that had moved Favre to the backup slot for the Packers, another one is expected by the official release date. Favre will certainly be the starter on the Jets by the time people pick up the game. I'd fully expect to see downloadable Brett...
  • Pastapadre Online Dynasty Update Weeks 3-6

The Pastapadre Online Dynasty has now advanced through week six, thankfully without experiencing any more major catastrophes. Arizona State was able to pull off a nail-biter of an upset over top ranked Georgia, but Clemson remains the highest ranking team at #4. In the first head-to-head game of the year it was Illinois coming out on top over Penn State to take control of the Big 10. The upcoming game for Illinois against still undefeated Indiana looms large for that conference. As teams ...
  • NFL Head Coach 09 Q&A

Thanks to suggestions from the community I was able to compile a list of questions for NFL Head Coach 09 producer Josh Looman. While a lot has already been answered over the last few months these were questions that seemed valuable given the imminent release alongside Madden 09 in the Collector's Edition. I also sought to get a look at the online play aspect of the game and screenshots from that may come later today. Will there be a demo for the game? Yes. In fact, it will be complete...
  • Madden 09 Patch Details

Madden 09 producer Phil Frazier has revealed the details of the first patch for the game which is expected to be available on or around the release date of August 12th, as well as some potential areas to be addressed by a second patch and ideas for downloadable content. The first patch will predominantly be fixes that most people wouldn't have even noticed. The biggest one of the bunch is likely the adjustment that has been made to reduce frequent long kick returns. This wasn't something ...
  • NFL Head Coach 09 Create-A-Coach

The full Q&A on NFL Head Coach 09 is coming soon (likely tomorrow) along with screenshots from online play. To get out in front of that though he has sent over a handful of screens showing the Create-A-Coach feature which had been a specific request made through the comments. While you have the choice of taking over an existing coach some of the Xbox 360 achievements are tied into using a created one. You'll be able to shape the appearance, skills, and personality of the created coach. Cl...
  • NBA 2K9 E3 Presentation Video

The first footage of NBA 2K9 gameplay has made its way out thanks to a site having recorded the presentation that was made at the E3 press conference a few weeks back. You can check out the three minute first quarter here. I like the frenzy of the crowd in the 2K9 video though the non-reaction to the alley-oop at the end would need to be fixed (early build). The net animations are noticeably better than Live. Both games now have a somewhat intrusive crowd though which I'm not sure about. ...

The latest video for NHL 09 focuses on the new features. Combined with the previous Hockey League trailer you've got an impressive overview of what to expect this year. IGN has a new video detailing the changes to GamerNet for Tiger Woods 09. The instant challenges should be a nice addition and the simultaneous online play will be especially welcome. Gamespot has posted up two new videos from NBA Live 09. They show some pregame footage (though the introductions are skipped), t...
