EASHL Friday Night
So NHL 09's EASHL is a big success. No surprise there given the overwhelmingly positive reaction to the feature. Over 10,000 teams have been created and over 50,000 users involved which are very significant numbers considering how NHL games don't sell all that much (relatively speaking) and then you're cutting into that with only those who play online. NBA 2K9 Reverse Fantasy League
More details are now known on what is being referred to as the Reverse Fantasy League for NBA 2K9. Registration for this doesn't begin until release day October 7th. Kevin Garnett, Steve Nash, Greg Oden, Chauncey Billups, Carlos Boozer, Andre Iguodala, Monta Ellis, and Derek Rose will select their own fantasy team of NBA 2K9 gamers to compete on their behalf. NBA Live 09 EASW Videos and Screens
Some screenshots and highlight clips from NBA Live 09 have started to make their way onto EA Sports World. NBA Live 09 Price Reduced?
Amazon has lowered the price of every version of NBA Live 09 by $5. So far Amazon is the only retailer to have done this so it may very well be a promotion that they worked out with EA. If it was a total price reduction Gamestop would probably have made the switch at the same time. Is Spectator Mode Still Desired?
Over the past few years the idea of a spectator mode has generated a lot of interest. Other games have implemented it successfully though it is difficult to gauge how much it is utilized. Madden 09 Patch #2 Now Out
After having to wait a few days from the initial time the second patch for Madden 09 was thought to go live it is now out for the 360 and PS3. As long as your console is connected online you will be automatically prompted to download the patch when next starting up the game. You will not have to restart franchise mode for the effects of the patch to come through. NCAA Basketball 09 Community Event Recaps
While there are still details to be revealed about NCAA Basketball 09 the recent community event offered a good opportunity to get a feel for how the game is shaping up and the direction EA Sports is taking the franchise. Overall it sounds as if the gameplay will be vastly improved and the new tempo feature will deliver, however the game is lacking the pull of a secondary mode (such as Be A Pro) and online play will be deficient. NBA 2K9 Player Ratings
Operation Sports has now posted NBA 2K9 screenshots of each team's full roster. The screenshots display the player's overall ratings along with the grades for the following categories: inside shooting, outside shooting, perimeter defense, post defense, ball handling, rebounding, IQ, and athleticism.
