For the past week I've been writing about some of the features in NBA Live 09 and posting up videos showing off the game in action as well as spotlighting those specific features. While I've mentioned a few thoughts relating to them I've withheld most of my overall impressions for this write-up. Continue on to read my full impressions of NBA Live 09. (more…)...

While I work on finishing up my full impressions of NBA Live 09 (should be up early Monday) I thought I could provide a look at the NBA Rewind feature. Coming out of the community event I believed that NBA Rewind would have wide appeal especially as the season progresses. Thanks to Live 365 every game is added the very next day which will allow people to replay match-ups that may have intrigued them or that turned out to be memorable. They may simply choose to follow along with their favorit...

Here is another set of screenshots and highlight videos via EA Sports World for NBA Live 09. This is easily the best highlight presentation for any game to use the feature thus far. Once you get comfortable with how to use the markers and get into editing each section it is quite easy. You really want to have a vision for your highlight before even producing it. With the ability to use any of the 10 set camera angles or the free floating camera which can be placed anywhere with any zoom ther...
  • NBA Live 09 Player Ratings

With the release nearing and copies starting to find their way out I thought it would be a good time to list off all the player ratings in NBA Live 09. I also wanted to make sure to get in all the FIBA rosters and ratings which I know a lot of people are interested in. As I've gone through the ratings it has become evident that All-Star caliber players tend to fall in the 82-90 range with the only players above 90 being true superstars. While the overalls may seem low, relatively speaking...

Here are the final game videos I'll be posting. I am still working on another set of screenshots and highlight clips so make sure to get any requests in and I'll see if I can get to them. I am taking questions on player ratings here in the forum and will have my final overall impressions of Live 09 up either this afternoon or tomorrow. Continue on to view a quarter of USA vs Spain, Hawks @ Nuggets, Trailblazers @ Wizards, and a short one of the Nets @ Mavericks showing off the three other...
  • NBA 2K9 Conference Call Recap and Demo Videos

Earlier today I had the chance to sit in on the NBA 2K9 developer conference call. Various media outlets were given the opportunity to present questions in advance that would be addressed during the call. Generally these 2K calls are pretty informative but given the amount already known about the game, the demo being out, and others who have retail copies already there wasn't much additional to be added. At the same time it is always good to hear directly from those involved in making the ga...
  • NBA Academy: Part Four

All the drills in the NBA Academy of NBA Live 09 are valuable but ultimately they are preparation for the full practices where you can take what you've learned and try and refine those skills without having to play a regular game to improve. It is even better when considering all the Academy drills including the practices with your team are available within dynasty mode and it offers a way for those who want to work on refining their team's playbooks and tailoring it to their players. I'm...
  • NBA Live 09: Sophomores vs Rookies

Here is the full game of Rookies vs Sophomores in NBA Live 09 as broken down by quarter and overtime. When I played this the Oklahoma City Thunder colors, logo, uniforms, and court were generic with the plan to have them included in free downloadable content by release day. Those items are actually already available now. There has also been a roster and accessory update and the DNA download has been made available (again if you buy the game it includes the code for free). I'll go over the ad...
