Earlier today Peter Moore stated to Bloomberg that the cover of next year's Madden may go to the highest bidder. The proceeds would then be donated to the United Way Foundation. The decision on whether this will happen has not yet been made but the possibility is being discussed. There's no question that many players would pay for the opportunity to be on the cover. Up until now the athlete has been determined by previous season performance, or in the case of Brett Favre the entirety of h...

EA Sports has released a new video for NCAA Basketball 09 going over the Set The Tempo feature in the game. This feature looks to be the most significant addition this year and will have a huge impact on how the game plays and in providing the unique feel of college basketball. From all accounts it sounds as though the feature is really going to deliver. Continue on to watch the video. (more…)...
  • Should There Be Another NFL Head Coach Game?

I'm in Vegas until tomorrow but wanted to drop a question for the community. Reaction from the hardcore crowd to NFL Head Coach 09 has been very positive, but sales numbers have not been very encouraging for the future of series. Personally I found the game to be initially intimidating and overwhelming, so I can only imagine what a more casual group of gamers would feel if they even were to give it a chance. It was just too time consuming for me and I lost interest soon after release. My ...

One of the things I mentioned in my impressions of Blitz: The League II is the use of Frank Caliendo as an announcer in the campaign mode. Das Gamer has an interesting interview with BTL producer Jacob Beucler that goes discusses the use of Caliendo, Jay Mohr, and some of the other elements that make up what the game is all about. While NBA 2K9's dreadful online play experience continues 2K has explained a few workarounds to a couple online league related gripes. There is one for playing ...

While the videos for the highlight contest will be up for voting on this weekend, there is another way to get attention for your favorite game clips. As mentioned a while back EA Sports World has a weekly Top 10 countdown with commentary by the Thompson Brothers. One of the initial complaints was that the clips weren't that great...that they were too focused on offense, or spotlighted ridiculous events like Eli Manning stiff-arming guys down the field. So here is an opportunity to put you...

Readers of the site were first to know that a potential release date change was coming for NCAA Basketball 09, and only a matter of hours later it was confirmed. The game is now set to release on Tuesday November 18th. Along with that news came some information about the game itself. Real schedules in dynasty mode, something that had been missing from the March Madness series, was guaranteed to be in this year. However now we find out that the game will ship without them but they will be ...

The ninth roster update for Madden 09 is tentatively scheduled to release on Friday. The Bills get some love this week, but the Cowboys somehow escape without any downgrades on defense, only one point lost on the offensive line, and Pacman Jones remains on the roster. Continue on for all the transactions, ratings up/down, injuries, and contract extensions. (more…)...
