EA Sports has released the full fact sheet for the upcoming 3 on 3 NHL Arcade. The game will be available in February on the Xbox Live Marketplace (800 points) and Playstation Network ($9.99). For that low price this is shaping up to be great value if the game is as entertaining to play as it sounds. Arcade hockey games have proven to be very fun in the past. The same could have been said about arcade boxing games until Facebreaker released though. However as an inexpensive downloadable titl...
  • Madden 09 Roster Update #16 Details

We have now reached the 16th roster update of the year for Madden 09 which became available earlier today. After much discussion around LaDainian Tomlinson continuing to be rated 99 he still remains that way, though he did drop in some specific ratings categories. I don't think that is enough, the justification isn't there for him remaining a 99 overall. Unless the ratings are based more on the past than the present. This is the guy who turned down the Madden cover because it didn't pay enou...

Jon Robinson at ESPN has an exclusive first look at MLB 09: The Show including the first screenshots for the game. While some of what is touched on came out of the earlier previews, this one goes into greater detail. It even includes the much of the fact sheet for the game. Check out the full article here. Just like last year the fact sheet is incredibly impressive. The only thing that disappoints me out of that is no mention of being able to upload the video highlights or screenshots. Ev...

  • #4 of 2008: FIFA 09

As I mentioned when it came to Tiger Woods, sometimes a sport has a ceiling for how much enjoyment I can get out of it. That is especially the case with those that I don't follow like golf or in this case soccer. However FIFA 09 had the total package this year. Top notch gameplay, amazing online play, and the secondary mode in the form of Be a Pro. What Be a Pro and Online Team Play does in a title like FIFA is constrict the scope of the game. For someone like myself that is critical. By ...
  • Madden NFL 10: The Wrong Name Choice

My initial reaction to hearing Madden NFL 10 is currently being prepped as the name for next year's Madden was of surprise. I mean it just sounds and looks awkward. Most expected EA to go with Madden NFL 2010 which is neither of those things. So I put up the poll this last weekend and it became quickly evident that the community agreed. Not only did Madden 10 trail Madden 2010 in the voting, it also came in behind the two other choices presented. Madden 10 has received only 7% of the vote...
  • Tracking the Madden 2010 Cover Candidates

At the mid-point of the season I took a look at some of the top candidates for the Madden 10 cover. I thought it would be interesting reevaluate those players and see how their stock has risen or fallen and consider what other players may have emerged as possibilities with their performances as of late. Needless to say the landscape has changed dramatically a quarter of a season later. (more…)...
