I've gotten my hands on the features list for MLB 2K9. This represents the first real info for the game which is set to be in stores on March 3rd. As expected it appears that they've attempted to simplify several aspects of the game. The trading card system looks to have been improved and more has been done to add to the authenticity of the experience. Providing the basics such as a smooth framerate and solid online performance are a necessity for this year, but other than those things is...

After a couple weeks away for the holidays the Madden roster updates have returned with #17 set to release on Friday. There is still expected to be another update next week following the divisional round of the playoffs. It's unknown whether there will be one after the Conference Championships before closing out the year with the final update following the Super Bowl. Some pretty significant changes this time around. LaDainian Tomlinson finally drops from his 99 rating, though it is only ...

The general consensus regarding Playstation Home is that is has been pretty much useless so far, though it has the potential to offer some value in the future. One of the aspects that is expected to take off is with companies opening up their own spaces in Home. Today EA announced that they will be doing so this spring with the introduction of the EA Sports Complex. EA worked closely together with Sony Computer Entertainment to ensure that the EA SPORTS Complex space within PlayStation Home...

Adding to a heavy couple days of baseball related content, the MLB 09 The Show cover art has now slipped out. Even though we've known that Dustin Pedroia was the cover athlete for a month and now have the actual covers for the game SCEA has yet to confirm it via press release. Expect that to arrive in the near future. This is much later than usual for officially announcing the cover athlete. What do you think of Pedroia getting the cover? He won the AL MVP so it would be difficult to say ...

Buried in the extended details on the MLB 09 The Show website are a couple mentions related to online play that were not made in the fact sheet. At first glance I thought they were describing the same thing that MLB 08 had in the Gamecast feature where you could watch ongoing games as they updated the situation (score, outs, match-ups, on-base, ect). However there are some new aspects for 09. SportsConnect Live GameCast Using SportsConnect technology, users can view the status of any game ...

I had the opportunity to be interviewed by Jesse Behr from TheBurghBlues. Within the interview I discuss various topics including a little background on the site and assessing the current state of baseball games. You can check out the full interview here. TBB: MLB Front Office Manager is a coming out later this month for the "real" baseball fan - a managing simulator with no real gameplay. Can you give us a little information about it? Do you believe there is a market big enough for MLB F...

The NBA Live 09 website has just added a widget that will display the DNA of any player in the NBA. The DNA will be updated daily on the site so that it is always current. The data that is provided is fascinating to look through and analyze as an NBA fan and now being able to do so on the web instead of having to fire up NBA Live 09 makes it much more convenient. This is just the basic DNA layout though and there is much more that can be found by going through the game. Hopefully someday ...

In addition to the earlier post announcing the upcoming MLB 09 The Show community event, a new set of screenshots for the game have been released. They can be found in the screenshot gallery and feature the Chicago Cubs and New York Mets. I'll have a posting within the next week or so to begin taking suggestions on things to look for at the community event. Also make sure to sign up and follow me on Twitter as I'll be doing quick updates throughout the trip....
