As mentioned previously I wanted to give everyone a chance to get some requests down for things you would like to hear about coming out of the MLB 09 The Show Community Preview. The preview takes place at the end of next week. No pictures or video of the game will be allowed but most of what we encounter when playing the game is expected to be open for discussion. For those who haven't read through some of my impressions out of community events I tend to look at the game with a relatively...

A study by the University of Oregon’s Warsaw Sports Marketing Center had the results released today that show NFL fans who play Madden are more knowledgeable about the sport than those who don't play the game. Apparently it is not an insignificant difference either. The football IQ of Madden players came out 60% higher than non-Madden players. The survey also shows a correlation between the total hours of playing Madden NFL per week and football IQ, as scores increased ...

At the mid-point of the season it was Anquan Boldin who appeared to be the WR most deserving of the Madden 2010 cover, though the uncertainty of him remaining with the Cardinals severely hampers the chances of it happening. Then it was Andre Johnson that really emerged and remains one of the favorites based on the regular season. The community seems to like him as a potential choice. Now with the performance in the playoffs that Larry Fitzgerald has turned in he has to be considered one o...
  • EA Planning More Downloadable Games

In something that won't come as a surprise, EA Sports president Peter Moore confirmed in his latest blog posting that more downloadable games along the lines of 3 on 3 NHL Arcade will be coming down the line. Considering the positive reception to the idea of downloading off the XBL Marketplace and PSN along with the low price of $10 it fits what EA was hoping to do with some of their off-titles. Doing so would have probably benefited other arcade style titles released in the past year and ch...

Chase and I are back in our more familiar roles with the Operation Sports Waiver Wire podcast for this week. After having the holidays off and releasing a few Padrecasts we get back to a more wide-ranging format. This time the discussions center around MLB 09: The Show franchise mode, getting your name into the audio database of NCAA Football 2010, and the upcoming releases of Skate 2, MLB Front Office Manager, and 3 on 3 NHL Arcade. I continue to complain about the naming of the EA Sports l...
