Just as they did last year EA Sports is offering free downloadable content for NBA Live 09 in celebration of All-Star Weekend. The NBA All Star Weekend 09 Pack is now available on XBL. Last year the DLC only came to the 360 and I am waiting on a response back on whether the PS3 will be receiving it this year. Update: The PS3 will get the DLC next Thursday. The download includes the official East and West jerseys and All Star Game court. With a roster update coming tomorrow the All Star te...

With the demo for MLB 09 The Show out tomorrow I thought I'd get another set of screens posted before everyone turns their attention to that. The third and final set will be posted sometime over the weekend. If you missed the first group make sure to check them out here or find them all in the screenshot gallery. This set includes a couple Road to the Show screens of Padre. I didn't spend a lot of time creating him but loved that sunglasses are now an option. Continue on for the screens or fi...

I have received confirmation from SCEA that the PS3 demo for MLB 09 The Show is expected to be out tomorrow February 5th. Generally PSN updates at around 3pm PT. The demo is four innings long and features a rematch of the World Series with the Tampa Bay Rays at the Philadelphia Phillies. As mentioned in my community preview write-ups the demo is based on a month old build but it should be a fair representation of what to expect with the final product. I'll try to get up a few videos of th...

The weekly Playstation Blog series continues for MLB 09 The Show. This time the focus is around the new training modes that have been added in Road to the Show as well for general practice. Batting Practice and Base Stealing are the two different types. You can read the blog posting in full here which also includes a video. And from a gameplay standpoint, we have always wanted RTTS to feel like you are doing exactly what you would be doing, from going to Spring training, to working up throu...

Throughout the recent MLB 09 The Show Community Preview Event we were given the opportunity to take screenshots using the PS3's slick built-in feature which made it really convenient. From that I grabbed 23 screens that SCEA has been generous enough to forward back to me. Most of them were based on requests that people had made via Twitter. Today I'll put up the first eight of those which you can check out by continuing on or in larger form in the screenshot gallery. (more…)...

I don't believe it was ever officially announced, but the release of 3 on 3 NHL Arcade is this week. It'll be out for the 360 on Wednesday (probably early AM) and for the PS3 on Thursday (probably late afternoon). This is a purely downloadable title that can be had from XBL or PSN for 800 MS points/$10. Update: Well it figures that I would put this up and shortly after find out the game has been delayed for the 360 by a week. It'll be February 11th on XBL. It should still be out on PSN on...

The first news relating to Madden 2010 was to be announced at halftime of the Super Bowl on the brand new EA Sports Community Blog. That announcement has come and centers around discussion of new technology in the game and specifically "Procedural Awareness". It is my pleasure to introduce Madden’s newest piece of technology, one that is also shared within many of the EA SPORTS games, called Procedural Awareness. What is it? We’ll you’ve likely heard of “head trac...

As posted last week roster update #18 for Madden 09 is the final one of the year. That means injured players come off the IR. But EA has also put a lot of effort into providing an extensive update that better represents the performances of the players this season. Hopefully this is a sign of how the updates will be produced next year as the vast majority of the community (88% according to the poll) wanted to see more of a slant towards current performance than was being offered. Unfortuna...
