A survey was recently posted on EA Sports World and it turns out that it mainly focused on prospective changes coming to EASW and EASports.com. It appears that EASW is going to merge into a new EASports.com and offer a wide array of new features. Some of the most exciting ideas are a video mash-up tool to edit and string together highlight reels uploaded from the games, using Photo Game Face in the creation of your online avatar, and a jersey creator tool that would allow for them (and th...

Gamespot continues some good MLB 2K9 coverage with user-requested screenshots and full team ratings. ESPN has an interview with NBA Live 10 producers. This is a pretty compelling interview for anyone interested in where the series is headed. The Playstation Blog recapped the recent MLB 09 The Show Community Preview. It turned out to be a really worthwhile experience and hopefully SCEA continues expanding their community interaction. Now just a week away from the Fight Ni...
  • MLB 2K9 Going Overboard with Stadium Advertising

I've never had any issues with in-game ads being displayed. This is because they have always been a natural fit, actually helping to increase the immersion factor. Seeing advertisements in places you would see them in real life they've makes sense. However with MLB 2K9 they may have finally crossed the line with how they are being inserted. Thanks to Operation Sports who has provided screenshots of every stadium we can now see how certain ads (specifically Pepsi) are dominant. While it's po...

With the disaster that MLB Front Office Manager turned out to be we can now focus on a game that looks to have some potential. 2K Sports has finally lifted the restriction on media sites for posting videos of MLB 2K9. Some have already begun to provide them with more sure to arrive later today. Below are links to the first posted gameplay videos and I'll be adding more as they show up. While it isn't yet enough to start making full evaluations on the game you can get a sense for the prese...

Again the EA Sports Community Blog has come through with an intriguing posting. This time it is the first screenshot from a work-in-progress NCAA Football 10. Given that we would not normally get a look at the game this early in the year it is more of a glimpse or a tease than the standard screens that are usually put on display. Still it is exciting to get a little something already considering I'm still going strong with NCAA 09 with multiple Online Dynasties. Click here to head over to...
  • Reviewers Get One Right and One Wrong

The first two sports titles of the year have been released in MLB Front Office Manager and 3 on 3 NHL Arcade. Both have been hit hard by reviewers despite their lower prices. In the case of MLB FOM I had some positive hopes for it and initially liked it but a couple major issues have negated all that and with a patch unlikely there isn't much hope of getting much enjoyment out of the game. On the other hand 3 on 3 NHL Arcade delivers exactly what it promised as a light-hearted fun offering b...
  • MLB 09 The Show: Attention to Details

The latest Playstation Blog posting covers the attention to detail that makes up the experience in MLB 09 The Show. There is little doubt that this has been a strength for the series the past couple years but they've taken it to another level for 09. The improved lighting, jumbotrons, and crowds are especially impressive. You can check out the full blog posting here which includes a video showing off what is being discussed. For this year’s version we wanted to make the game as accur...
