Madden 10: Sim Style Gameplay
This week's Inside EA Blog posting for Madden 10 focuses on some of the changes made to make the game more of a simulation. Most of that centers around the animation and various speed elements. Many of the things specifically mentioned have been gripes of the hardcore community. This is another good sign about the direction Madden is taking this year.
From the very beginning of the year, we've tried to make clear our vision for Madden - one of authenticity, realism, & simulation (aka 's...
FNR4 Release Date and Cover
EA Sports has finally solidified the release date for Fight Night Round 4. The game will be out on Tuesday June 30th. Interestingly that falls on the birthday of Mike Tyson who is the centerpiece of this game. As expected Tyson and Muhammad Ali share the cover.
The release date makes sense in that it falls in between dates for other EA Sports games that were already known. Tiger Woods 10 and Grand Slam Tennis are coming on June 16th and NCAA Football 10 is out July 14th.
Update: The re...
MotionPlus Delay Will Affect Upcoming Games
Grand Slam Tennis and Tiger Woods 10 will both be utilizing the new Wii MotionPlus controller add-on. Unfortunately it is becoming more and more apparent that MotionPlus has been delayed from its original targeted release. Nintendo has dropped it from its release schedule and rumors are now circulating that is because are attempting to work out some issues with it.
And that leaves EA out to dry in this situation. Recently they came out and stated the games will still perform well even wit...
The Wrap-Up: MLB 2K9
Heading into the release of MLB 2K9 there was a certain sense of optimism. Outside of one clearly identified problem everything pointed towards an improved offering, one that while maybe not great would be enough to satisfy baseball gaming fans on the 360. Unfortunately it didn't take long to realize that not only did that not turn out to be the case, but it is far worse than anyone would've anticipated.

T.O. Reportedly Signs With Bills
According to reports Terrell Owens has signed a one year deal with the Buffalo Bills. How will he fare in Buffalo with Trent Edwards as the QB? Does this move make them a contender in the AFC East?
To me this makes some sense in that it is a one year deal so T.O. will be playing for a contract next off-season. But I don't see how he can be expected to handle playing with a QB that is not nearly as good as the ones he has criticized in the past. One thing is for sure the Bills will have a ...
The Wrap-Up: MLB 09 The Show
At times I've had some difficulty writing about The Show over the last couple months which is actually due to what a quality product 08 was. Usually you can assess the previous iteration and have an idea of what you're looking for out of the next. With 08 the only real glaring weakness was with online play. It is tougher to identify and discuss the improvements to a game when it was already so good to begin with.
So that's where I start when evaluating MLB 09 The Show. I already knew it w...
Super Sim in NCAA Football 10
This week's NCAA Football 2010 update focuses on the improvements being made to the Super Sim feature for this year. Those improvements include a new way of presenting it, proper CPU clock management, and the ability to skip plays in Campus Legend. You can read about it on the Inside EA Blog here.
I'm definitely happy to find that you'll be able to sim through any Campus Legend plays you don't want to participate in. I remember how annoying it was to have to cover kickoffs. This also open...
Where Will T.O. Go?
With the news that the Dallas Cowboys have cut Terrell Owens now all the speculation has turned to where he might end up. Given that he has burned so many bridges there aren't a whole lot of viable opportunities. He will be looking to go to a team set up for a playoff run that has a good QB however ones that might need a receiver. Several teams have actually already come out and stated they want nothing to do with him.
So who will end up singing him? Or will he even be able to find a team...
