  • Server problems for The Golf Club 2 have mostly been resolved

For the first four days of release The Golf Club 2 was rendered largely unplayable due to server issues that made both Career Mode and Online Societies inaccessible. The problems appear to have been ironed out as the weekend went smoothly with all features working properly. The only issue I've run into since Saturday are completed rounds played in Society that, when returning to start the next round, have lost results for a handful of holes in the completed round. I've had to re-play the ...

With the All-Star Break nearing the last few weeks of roster updates for MLB The Show 17 haven't demonstrated the same impact of those that came before them. That could be an indication that a sweeping update of the whole league taking more into consideration this season's performance of players will be coming at that time. It's something the development team has done in past editions of The Show. This week's roster update only adjusts one player that came into it rated over 83. It does n...
  • The Golf Club 2 struggling with servers in early days of release

It's no longer a surprise when a new game releases and online connectivity is inconsistent or completely unfunctional. Unfortunately that's been the case with The Golf Club 2 which came out on Tuesday. The original didn't have any problems of the sort but with a sequel that's likely performing better with consumers the downside to that is an independent developer up against a challenge they may not have been prepared to face. One of the great things about The Golf Club is that progress is...

Barring an unexpected transaction this summer the Houston Rockets will enter NBA 2K18 with the highest rated backcourt in the game. By acquiring Chris Paul in a trade today they've passed by the Golden State Warriors duo of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Paul is rated 91 Overall making him the third best point guard 2K. He's now paired with James Harden's 96 Overall. Presumably Harden will be shifting back to more of a traditional shooting guard role but naturally he'll still have the b...

Released in 2014 The Golf Club was among the first wave of sports games from independent developers that helped lead to the resurgence in the genre where sports (or unique takes on them) not being sufficiently covered by the big publishers are taken on by smaller studios. It was a great effort despite lacking in content and having a barrier of extreme difficulty, and was even rewarded with the Pastapadre Community Award for Best New Sports Game. Now the sequel has arrived for $40 on Xbox ...
